Reed's ultimatum falls short of convincing as Galactus lets everyone know that if he is trapped on Earth, Earth will still die before he does. The Surfer decides to join Galactus but Reed's bluff was not his only plan as he rigs the ship to take Galactus into the Negative Zone as Reed forces the Surfer to stay and the Earth is safe, for now.
