Wolverine is recovering with the help of Jubilee but they are being hunted by Lady Deathstrike. Storm is back as she is found on the banks of the Mississippi River and rushed to the hospital in a coma. Meanwhile on Muir Island, Magneto is stepping down as headmaster of Xavier's school to take up as leader of the mutant resistance in the coming war between humanity and mutant kind. Moira protests but it falls on deaf ears. Lorna Dane is on a distressed ship and calls out for help and Banshee comes to the rescue as he now has limited use of his old powers again. Amanda seeks out Nightcrawler as Forge meets the Shadow King in his vision quest and learns Storm is alive and the Shadow King knows where she is now. The Reavers prepare their next assault, the total destruction of Muir Island and everyone on it.
