"Children of the Atom"

Kitty, Peter and Kurt relax on a cruise ship when they are suddenly attacked by a group claiming to be the X-Men. They scramble to save the ship but in the chaos, these new X-Men kidnap Kitty. Kurt and Peter travel back to the mansion only to find it deserted, except for Cecelia who tells the pair that the X-Men are on a mission. Meanwhile, the X-Men go out to investigate the disappearance of Dr. Corbeau. The Doctor was kidnapped by the X-Men, though not the real team. The X-Men find out that his disappearance is due to a top secret payload going up on the next shuttle mission as the team heads out to Florida to investigate. Kitty is taken by this new X-Men team to a secret location where she is brought before the founder of this new team, Professor X but something is wrong with him and he needs Kitty's help. She debugs a virus that allows Xavier to free his mind but is it really him? Dr. Eric Koppisch is assassinated during a briefing that is designed to ease the minds of protestors who don't want the shuttle to launch due to its nuclear engines but it is all fake in order to distract the masses and launch the shuttle. The X-Men arrive but are attacked by the new X-Men as Kurt and Peter show up to help their friends escape the new team.
