"The Hunt for Xavier, Part 1 of 6: Meltdown"

SHIELD has come to the Midwest as farmland burns all around at the hands of Pyro. Nick Fury enlists the help of the X-Men, since they have fought Pyro in the past and can handle him. They try to get to Pyro but all he wants is Xavier. But Pyro is acting weirder than normal, though Fury chalks the behavior up to the effects of the Legacy Virus, Pyro seems to be fighting against something in his flames. He moves dangerously close to a local town as the X-Men must act quickly to clear the town before Pyro gets there. After clearing the town, they try to lead Pyro back out into the fields where Wolverine is waiting for him. Wolverine stops Pyro but the thing he held in his flames escapes. After securing Pyro, the team heads back to scan for Xavier using the portable Cerebro. Meanwhile, something lands in the bay outside of San Francisco.
