Tales to Astonish (1959) 97-A by Marvel
Item Bio
"The Sovereign and the Savages"
Namor is prisoner of Lord Plunder at his stronghold Skull Island in the Savage Land. The Plunderer realizes that if he can convince Namor of an alliance that he will be unstoppable. While he works his persuasion, the Swamp Men attack Plunder's base, inadvertently freeing Namor, whose righteous rage destroys Plunder's base, while the fleeing Plunder goes to vent his revenge on Atlantis.
"The Legions of the Living Lightning"
While jumping across the countryside, the Hulk collides with a low-flying jet. The surviving pilot is aided by the Hulk, and pleads that the Hulk take him to his base, the stronghold of the Lord of Lightning. Meanwhile, everyone is searching for the Hulk. Rick Jones and the Teen Brigade has failed, and General Ross tells Talbot to call off the search. Talbot won't let it die, however, due to his jealousy over Betty Ross' love for Bruce Banner. The Lord of Lightning sees an opportunity for a powerful ally, and convinces the Hulk of their friendship, just as Glen Talbot is caught spying outside of their base. Talbot heatedly accuses the Hulk of treason, and the Lord of Lightning goads the Hulk into attacking Ross' base.

|
| 4/26/2013 10:27:38 AM |
The Longbox has just posted our 1000th Hero Rating! Many thanks to all of our valued customers who helped make this possible!
I'd even like to thank all those who have left us our 4 Mortal and 1 Villain rating. It keeps us well-rounded, and helps build character!
An extra thanks to comicuniversity, who gave us our 1000th Hero Rating. For his part in the scheme, he has won himself a 40% discount voucher towards his next order. Congratulations!
And just so this post isn't all about the gloating--stop by our store to pick up the ONLY copy of Rocket Raccoon #1 on CCL! Someone already snatched up #2, so this is all that's left of any issue of the series. Now get to it!
Wait, I think that was gloating, too....:-$
