Amazing Spider-Man (1963) 42-A by Marvel
Item Bio
"The Birth of a Super-Hero!"
Spider-Man senses a problem at a local bank and finds that there is a bomb in a payroll satchel. Acting quickly, he grabs the bag and dumps it into the Hudson. The only problem is that, to the general public, it looked like a bank robbery.
After exposure to space spores, John Jameson starts to manifest powers. His dad J. Jonah thinks this is great. The news arrives of Spidey's apparent robbery, and John sets off after our hero. Even after John learns the truth, nothing can extinguish his rage, frightening his father. Spider-Man manages to knock him out and retire for the evening. At home, Peter gets ready for the evening he has been dreading: the blind date with Anna Watson's niece Mary Jane. When she finally arrives, she delivers the line that will change Peter Parker's life for all time. "Face it, Tiger...you just hit the jackpot!"
First full appearance of Mary Jane Watson.
