"Muir Island Saga: One Step Back--Two Steps Forward"

Xavier returns to the ruins of Muir Island as he must face the Shadow King on the Astral Plane in order to defeat him but the Shadow King is too powerful as X-Factor joins the fight. Meanwhile, Forge continues to use his telepathic inhibitor to bring those under the Shadow King's influence back to reality. But it is Pyslocke who breaks the Shadow King's Anchor in the real world that helps Xavier and X-Factor defeat him on the Astral Plane. The Shadow King is banished to the void but not before he leaves one final gift for Xavier, he paralyzes Charles with a broken back.
