The Marauders are on the hunt for the Morlocks as they follow one from LA to NY. Meanwhile, Magneto is recruited by the Hellfire Club to become the White King in an attempt to join the X-Men with the Hellfire Club. Outside, X-Factor (a team made up of the original X-Men team as they were before their mutations - with the exception of Jean Grey, whose place is taken by Madelyn Summers) get some face time with the people and cast themselves as the answer to the Mutant problem. Kitty Pryde, Iliana and Colossus find Nightcrawler alive, but he too has lost his powers. And Logan and Storm track down the last place Phoenix was before she disappeared.
