"Apostate Betrayed!"

Makkari receives the story from Tiamut the Communicator, the Dreaming Celestial, of how he came to lie buried. During the Second Host, when the Celestials came to judge the planet, the balance of power was found to be in the Deviants' favor. The lead Celestial, Arishem, decided against annihilation and instead chose to the thin the herd of Deviants. Tiamut found this logic defective, and found Arishem to be corrupted with hatred, and so attempted to stop him by force. He found that the other Celestials were part of Arishem's plan, and they subdued him and buried him beneath the mountains. Tiamut revealed to Makkari that he must analyze the current balance of power and transmit it to the Fulcrum prior to the arrival of the Horde, or, failing that, initiate the Song that will lull all into a catatonic sleep.

Ajak locates and awakens Gilgamesh and turns him into a weapon to be used against Ikaris and his allies. Thena locates and attempts to awaken Phastos to no avail. Joey dupes Zuras into revealing the total knowledge of the Eternals to the alien intelligence.
