"The Conqueror Worms!"
The Swamp Thing lurks near the ruins of his former lab, uncertain at his direction in life. Matt Cable and Abigale Arcane seek him out, Matt having been convinced of the monster's good intentions. They are collectively assaulted by mutant worms, and Matt and Abby are taken captive.
When they awake, they find that they, as well as several other humans, are the prisoners of Professor Zachary Nail, who has built an artificial Eden in the swamp, and who stumbled upon the race of mutant worms. They possess intelligence and supposedly serve Nail, but secretly have a more sinister agenda.
