The fight continues as Venom eliminates all of the drillers in front of the inhabitants. For his selfless act, Brock is nominated by the inhabitants to join them but he is challenged by a vote of the towns Councilors at a meeting that evening. In the meantime, Brock learns of the city and how if as lost in the quake of 1906 and found by accident. Brock learns that his petition to join is rejected but he learns who is trying to drive the out the city mogul and developer Roland Treece. Venom goes to pay him a visit, not realizing Spiderman is on his trail, Venom is cornered by Treece and his new hit squad, The Jury.
