While Clark and Lois attend the graveside service for Adam Grant and offer their condolences to Cat, four men known as the Challengers of the Unknown arrive in Metropolis from the 31st century in pursuit of a villianous criminal known as Tiko.

As Tiko prepares to don five rings that grant super powers, he is attacked from behind by a street gang who steal his rings and go on a crime spree. Now it's up to the Man of Steel and the Challengers to subdue the punks, retrieve the rings, and get Tiko back to 1958.

This story takes place between panels 1 and 2 on the last page of Challengers of the Unknown (1958) #4.
