T'Challa agrees to meet with Namor, where Namor invites the Black Panther to join in the power coalition organized by Norman Osborn. Namor tells T'Challa that times are uncertain, that Osborn's alliance will fail, and that the Black Panther should be nearby when it does. T'Challa turns him down and leaves peaceably, but as he leaves Namor's abode, he and the Dora Milaje are confronted by Doctor Doom. Hours later, the Black Panther's aircraft crash lands in Wakanda with him critically wounded inside. With T'Challa in a coma, protocol demands a new Black Panther take up the mantle to defend Wakanda. What happened to T'Challa, and who will fill his shoes?
