"The Rocketeer, Chapter 4"

Cliff Secord has just lost his job as flyer at the air circus, his girlfriend Betty Page has little time for him, and worse yet, Colonel May is after him to recover the rocket pack, though he doesn't know it yet. His friend and mechanic Peevy has fixed up the pack after the damage from Cliff's first rough ride, and gives Cliff some instruction on how it is supposed to be handled. When the goons show up, it is all Cliff can do to stay one step ahead of them, and the chase takes them to Clover Airfield, where a test flight of the experimental plane "The Locust" is taking place. The test flight has been hijacked by Nazis, sidetracking Colonel May from his hunt for the pack, and the Rocketeer thinks he may be able to help. The story, although originally projected to conclude in the next issue, concludes in Rocketeer Special Edition #1.


"The Missing Man Meets the Payne Family"

The Missing Man does what he can to keep Circle City clean of crime, but as soon as he chases one group of thugs out, another moves in. This time it is the Payne Family. Maw and Paw Payne are as brutal and crooked as you get, and are disappointed that their kid Sorry doesn't have the killer instinct. They kidnap the Missing Man's mother, and when the rescue goes badly, it is the Payne's own in-fighting that bring them down.
