Fantastic Four (1961) 342-A

"Burnout"

Johnny hears of another kid burning himself up and dying while emulating the Human Torch as Johnny goes wild with grief. He visits the kid's hometown where he finds the kid's friends have created a suicide worship cult of the Human Torch. Johnny tries to convince them not to do it but they will not be dissuaded. Johnny vows to never use his flame again as he quits the FF. But the boy's father has another idea for Johnny as he and his brothers try to kill the Torch with their power suits. Johnny must use his powers to stop the men. Johnny returns to town where he lectures the kids in school.

** This story takes place before Ben turns human, Reed and Sue rejoin the team and Crystal returns to the Inhumans.
