Forge and Banshee rescue Jean from the demons who occupied the Morlock tunnels as they learn from Jean the X-Men are alive. Banshee and Jean are beamed out of the mansion as Forge heads off to track them only to find more creatures and Jean and Banshee, who have been transformed by the creatures. She joins them in their search to find the X-Men before the Reavers do and kill them. Meanwhile, the Reavers destroy a company owned by Emma Frost, the White Queen as they plan to take down the Hellfire Club as well as the X-Men. The Genoshans send an ambassador to the White House to plead for the return of Jennifer and Phillip on the grounds that they are genetic machines, not sentient beings but they tell the President's Chief of Staff they will conduct operations in the US with or without permission. Peter finally meets the strange woman only to learn it is Callisto but they are captured by Masque.
