Great seller.
Every eligible weekday order for the last 4 years shipped in less than 24 hours
Hours are on the window so you know we'll be here waiting for your visit.

Every eligible weekday order for the last 4 years shipped in less than 24 hours, in less than an hour for daytime orders is normal. (occasionally we have to wait for a check in the mail, E-Check or new Dwolla transfer to clear) Most weekend/holiday orders processed same day as well and always in the mail as soon as the post office opens. If you can't get in here in person & need a few new books monthly or more often let us get you setup with the same Priority Mail shipping speed & indestructible packaging you've gotten used to with the back issues.

Thousands of New Comics in stock and more arrving Weekly, bagged and boarded on arrival for protection.
Free Hold-Box setup (Automatic Free Layaway for new issues prior to shipping or you picking them up) so you don't miss an issue or get one that's been overly fondled)
Over 150,000 back issues to choose from & still growing.
Over 10,000 back issue titles & more than 200 new titles a month coming in.
Over 40,000 individual items viewable online. Many more in person and if we don't have a copy for sale we may let you read one out of our private collection.
Over 1,400 bundled lots and a rapidly growing collection of complete new title bundled lots available to view in person. Bundled lots are typically complete sets of stories or titles from 2 issues up to 200 issues ready to read and sometimes containing key story continuation issues from other titles. In other cases they can be starter sets to try out a title or maybe breaking large titles up into more affordable pieces. (We don't like finishing issue 23 at 9PM at night just to find out the story is continued into issue 47 of a different title we don't have and can't get ahold of rapidly either.)
Order's ready for pick-up in under an hour usually during daylight hours, by next morning usually if ordered at night or come by and we can pull as we go on the spot.
As we get time we're scanning individual issues and linking them in from Photobucket or adding them directly if you click on the Market Notes. If the comic you desire hasn't been scanned yet let us know and it can usually happen quickly.
Hundred's of action figures, graphic novels, trade paper backs, magazines, comics, bundled lots, bags, boards, comic boxes, even some books with words not listed online available for walk-in traffic.

More displays and lots of signage still to get built.

Regional Rate Boxes are back on the USPS site and available for shipping with now. Your shipping Zone is based on the first 3 digits of your zip code and this chart from the USPS set to our zip codes starting point.

Priority Mail Regional Rate A boxes for up to 40 current comics.
Zone 1&2&3-$6.99, ,
Zone 4-$7.26,
Zone 5-$8.97,
Zone 6-$8.81,
Zone 7-$10.67,
Zone 8-$11.85

Priority Mail Regional Rate B Box up to 80 standard comics,
Zone 1&2-$7.38,
Zone 3-$8.69,
Zone 4-$9.62,
Zone 5-$11.73

That should be the rates from our shipping zone to your shipping zone as close as we can figure with CCL and PayPal fee's figured in. If we can get your order into one of those boxes you will be eligible for a shipping overage refund based on the rates above. If you want the above rates to check out with up front message us with your zip code and expected order size so we can add a shipping option with your name on it to check out with. Quantities are estimates based on normal size unbagged comics. Thicker comics, trade paperbacks, large numbers of comics needing bags and boards(extra 3.25" width per hundred) and oddball oversized items can reduce the number that will fit. If your items are thinner unbagged comics more may fit.

The Regional Rate A Box expands in the middle to hold a 4 to 5" stack of comics while allowing for a full inch of extra padding packed in around the sides and ends. The Regional Rate B box is bigger than the Medium Flat Rate Box with over an inch extra space on each side for more newspaper padding. It'll expand out around 7"s plus. We've on occassion gotten as many as 100 comics in one a few times.

How to pack a comic book order.

Go get the books. Everythings filed by CCL title and we use a small laptop showing the actual order so it's pretty quick to compare the books we're pulling directly to the images and descriptions.

Place one piece of cardboard cut to the size of a backing board down in front of your computer monitor.

Place the first book in a bag and board and lay face up on top of that.

Continue to double check the books and grades against the order which hopefully you have showing on the monitor stacking each book front cover to front cover.

When you get to the last book place it in a bag and board also facedown.

Place another piece of cardboard ontop of the stack.

Select a plastic bag and carefully slide the whole stack into it.

Using packing tape (we prefer 3" tape) gently wrap around the bundle to slightly tension the books to strengthen the stack and to further waterproof. (We don't know if it'll be raining at your house when it gets delivered or even if you have a real mailbox) This is where we are now in this picture.

Now hold a collapsed box up to your stack. Mark the box at the height of the stack. Flip the box over and mark the other end the same way.

Now take your shears and cut off the box pieces you just marked.

Now using tape secure a double layer wrap around the edges. If you've packed several orders and made it past the flaps it's even easier since the middle of the box body stays in one double thick piece. You should have a few pieces left over. Using more tape secure another piece on the corner as bumpers so the corners are now triple thick.

Now it's ready to go in it's final package. In this case it's a Legal Size Flat Rate Envelope thats holds 15 comics depending on thickness up to 25 comics skimping on extra protection. Since this one's a little thin we wrap it in bubble wrap to help fill the envelope and protect it more. Take a full doublesheet of newspaper squished up to go in the ends to cushion it even more.

In this case there's even more room so a couple pieces of cardboard are also added to sandwich the whole works.

Almost the same procedure works for all orders. For larger orders the stacks get broken down into 80 issue piles so as to fit into the flat rate boxes. Once they're wrapped just select the box size that best fits. Usually 40 comics in a Regional Rate A side loading box, 80 or so in the Medium Flat Rate Box or Regional Rate B top loading box.

The best part is the opening. Cut along the tape and plastic where the paper indicates and the entire package fillets open in a few seconds. Take out the first piece of cardboard and the books are ready to come out already in order as they appear on the invoice either bottom up or top down. None of that 2 books in a used dingy bag scrambled up mess you have to mess around with unbagging and rebagging with new clean bags and resorting the whole thing to make sure it's all even there. Priority mail shouldn't be opened and inspected anyway since it's legal but even if a box burst open the contents inside the box should still be secure and safe. No more horribly dented "New" bags & boards with some dented comic corners.

Even better, the whole process costs nothing but the cost of a little tape and maybe a plastic bag. \:d/

Driving Directions
Directions in general to save a few phone calls whether you're coming today or any day. 101 E Carolina Ave Crewe VA 23930

If you draw a flattened X through the state of Virginia it could be called highways 360 and 460.

360 runs in the direction from Richmond to South Boston/Danville area.
460 runs from the Petersburg to Roanoke areas.
They crisscross at Burkeville which is about 4 miles from here.
460 comes directly through Crewe. 360 passes by about a mile or so above Crewe.

If you can find 460 and Crewe there's 3 stop lights in Crewe on 460. One's for the fire department which you'll drive right through most days. The one on the other end gives you the option to turn and head towards Victoria on highway 49. The stoplight in the middle gives you the choice to turn onto Carter street or keep going on 460. Turn onto Carter street. Come in one block and there's another stop light or technically 4 facing all directions since we got fancy and did away with the one hanging in the middle the fire trucks used to run into during the Christmas parade. We're right on the corner to your right facing you if you're at the light.
Interstate 85 and 95 pass by a little to the east. You can get off 85 close to Petersburg and come directly down 460 which is a 60 mph zone once you get a bit away from the airport area with no stop lights most of the way. Basically it's about a 45 minute drive depending on your foot pressure on the peddle.

95 ties in easily on 360 at the Richmond area/Hull Street. Again it's about 45 minutes or so driving from there depending on traffic and foot pressure but they're adding more stop lights every time you blink so I frequently bypass Hull Street by taking 460 to 85 which connects to 95 and 288 bypass to get to the east side of Richmond with less stops.

Roanoke is about 2 hours down 460. Lynchburg's about an hour. Farmville/Longwood College/Hampton Sydney College is about 20 minutes. Blackstone/Fort Pickett is maybe 10 minutes. Once again all times depend on your preference for foot pressure on the peddle.

South Hill, Lunenburg, Lawrenceville and a variety of other locations can be accessed in 30 minutes or so by the back roads 49, 46 and other back roads loaded with deer and squirrels to dodge.

We'd also like to remind you to please take the time to check the Market Notes for comics before ordering. Frequently we add information, links to scans and scans directly to the listings. If there's any questions we're available 7 Days A Week to answer them before you order and we can even provide scans when requested on questionable issues or higher priced comics that aren't sealed into sets. There's also lots of good information in the Shipping Details that will help you select the right option for the size order you're placing or just ask prior to ordering and we'll try to clarify things. We're trying to keep things simple and not have 18+ shipping options to check out with (2 per Shipping Zone) plus other options.
