*Bruce Wayne attends a charity event held on a cruise ship by Ms. Bader-Smythe. It is attacked by an aquatic humanoid. "Orca" takes Bader-Smythe's necklace and escapes back into the sea. Batman investigates Orca's motives by visiting a marine research facility / aquarium run by Dr. Grace Balin. Batman encounters Orca again at a place where stolen jewelry is fenced.
