Quote:
Jason Momoa in Talks to Play Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy?
After securing Parks & Recreation actor Chris Pratt earlier this month Star-Lord, Marvel may be on its way to recruiting another cast member for director James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
According to Latino Review, which has had a pretty good track record on Marvel scoops, the studio is in negotiations for Conan the Barbarian star Jason Mamoa to play Drax the Destroyer. It was reported last month that “Old Spice guy” Isaiah Mustafa, Generation Kill actor Brian Patrick Wade and former professional wrestler Dave Batista were also testing for the role.
In Marvel comics, Arthur Douglas and his human family were killed by Thanos. Needing a champion capable of defeating the Mad Titan, the cosmic entity Kronos rescued Douglas’ spirit and placed it into the body of Drax the Destroyer, a being with superhuman strength and durability, and the ability to create blasts of cosmic energy.
The 6-foot-4 Momoa, who also appeared on HBO’s Game of Thrones, can now be seen opposite Sylvester Stallone in Bullet to the Head.
Guardians of the Galaxy opens Aug. 1, 2014.

While not that impressed with his acting abillity, I think he would fit that part well.

He always plays the strong, silent type. So I don't see why this is such bad casting, since Drax usually isn't talking unless it's to say how much he wants to kill Thanos (or how much he hates the Hulk, lol, loved the interaction between them in the Infinity War).

This is hilarious.
People get (banned) when an oscar winning talent like jamie Fox gets cast in a comic movie....because he doesnt look like the character from the comic, but people love it when this no talent ass clown gets cast because he does.
Do you want a good movie or a frame by frame retelling?

Boo..just when I noticed what next movie David was going to be in (aka finally reading the article and not only looking at the photo and calling it a day).

Hmmm. Don't know what to think. I haven't seen Bautista's acting ability. But at least he has the size and intensity for the part.
