Anyone else plan on seeing this?
I'm gonna check it out this weekend.
I like how this movie is actually endorsed by Sam Raimi and he had a hand in it, even picking the director.
The original is still creepy, can't wait to see what they do with this.

I want to go see it and hope to soon! You actually think Evil Dead (original) was scary? The trailer to the remake made me feel as if I was staring down the abyss of hell in comparison with the old one.

The first Evil Dead WAS scary...scary bad! Don't get me wrong, I liked the original but Evil Dead II was in-freaking-credible! I only hope that they get the best B-movie actor in the world, Bruce Campbell, to at least make a cameo or something.

Creepy, not scary. Yes this new one does make the orig seem tame.

Just got back from seeing it. More gory than scary. It's a renter for sure.

This was all I've thought concerning the remake since I heard about it.

Not sure if he's actually in the movie, but Campbell is also a producer on this alongside Raimi.

I saw it on Thursday night, and I liked it. It was really gruesome, and I got scared a few times. Plus, the after credits scene was awesome.

I think it was one of the best horror movies in years. It reminded me of an old school horror movie, such as a Halloween or a Friday the 13th. They didn't use CG effects in this movie, everything was done old school with props and blood bags, which is another reason why I loved it.
Okay so here are a few comments about the original. The original is a cult classic, you cannot say it wasn't good or scary. For it's time it was beyond disturbing. Evil Dead 2 is basically the same thing as 1 except a comedic B horror/comedy movie. Which in it's own right is incredible, it gave birth to the Ash we've come to love and adore and whoever can forget the Army of Darkness movie which was another great cheesy B Horror/Comedy movie. As for the new one, I won't call it a remake because their was no Ash in the movie. It was a re-envisioning of the franchise and it was a great first step. This one goes for the jugular and it doesn't let go. It's brutal, graphic and disturbing and if you are easily offended or getting your stomach in knots over gore, do not watch this movie. I loved every second of it, applauding louder and louder every time a new insane scene occurred. Yes it does have it's plot holes, but we aren't talking about a super hero movie that revolves around a script or an academy award winning performance. People that are going to see Evil Dead are doing so for it's disturbing nature and gore. In this department the movie delivers in every way possible.
I saw this last Thursday Night and thought it was really cool. Make sure to stay for the end of the credits, their is a scene at the end. That's all i'll say

Saw it yesterday and it was sweet. Best horror movie I've seen in awhile. Wanted to watch it again after it was over.
That's how a horror movie should be made.

Looks like I'll have to watch it solo/rental b/c my bf is not the horror movie type. I need a local horror media buddy to go see things with b/c my other one just moved out of state and my bf is sure not to partake in all things gruesome.

Just saw Evil Dead this past weekend. I liked it. I thought it was one of the better horror remakes in a long time. Some scenes were hard to watch. lol
