Now that I purchased the software - is there anyway to turn off the banner ads? I use Windows Live Sync to have CCL run on my home computer and work computer and I believe everytime a new add is loaded the sdf file is written to the hard drive causing Live Sync to copy the file every 30 seconds or so.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Scott and thanks for joining our party!

While I'm not 100% positive that can be done, I will check just the same for you. Stay tuned, my friend.

I too would like to disable the ads in the CCL software. I have my PC set to system standby after 1 hour of 'inactivity'. CCLs constant click-click-click ads keep my PC from going into standby.

I apologize if this thread has been resolved, but I'd love to find an answer to disabling the damned banner ad. When my system wakes up after having been asleep, the 'clicking' of the ads cycling is horrendously annoying. I would love to make that go away...
Thanks in advance!

Indeed, I fire up CCL every Wednesday morning and then put my PC to sleep so I can go to work.
When I get home in the afternoon with my funny books the software is basically frozen for almost 5 minutes while it tries to "catch up" on all the ads.
According to the "Version History" this was supposedly fixed on March 1st 2009 with version 3.1.3.0.
When will that fix actually be implemented? "Soon"?

The original poster has a valid point, normally when you pay up for a full version of software the ads go away. I will be curious to see which direction CCL goes with the new version. My personal feeling is CCL took a step back by trying to profit from both subscribers & advertisers & are being bailed out by a strong market for comics. Having a "disable ads" option for paying customers would be a big step in the right direction, some people would sign up for that.

I took a lot of $h!t for being an @$$hole in another thread a while back, but August is almost here - my expectations are high.

I just looked back at my "Top 4" feature requests from over a year ago;

1. Discount Code

2. Ability to see which stores have the most items on our wishlists and for how much

3. Easier navigation browsing stores

4. Another icon to let us know if a certain comic is already in our collection (like the in cart/wishlist icons)

In all fairness, I have to say this was a big deal for me when this was done.

It made my shopping on CCL a ton easier knowing I can narrow my shopping to the stores with the most stuff I need. Pretty nice Applause

and it was Jim who did that - as I stated in the previously mentioned thread, I bet Joe and Co. don't even know that was done...
and BTW Pat, I was being sarcastic - I expect absolutely nothing, if I'm wrong at least I won't be (further) disappointed.
It seems that some serious $h!t talking and ranting is the only way to get CCL to pay attention to what's going on around here. On the plus side, we did get to see some new "employees" on the boards for a whole 2 or 3 hours... Awesome community involvement!
