ComicCollectorLive.com and GoLoco Media Group are proud to announce their 2nd Annual SuperHero Day Event in conjunction with The Academy of Indian Lake Village Child Development Center and Preschool in Hendersonville, TN.

This focus of the yearly event is to promote early childhood literacy, character-building and community outreach by using comic books and comic book super-heroes as models.

“I grew up with comic books in my hands and a makeshift cape on my back,” says GoLoco Media Group’s Chief Brand Officer Steve Boyd. “Now comic books and super-heroes are more mainstream and more Hollywood, but the ability to use super-heroes and comics as learning tools have never changed.”

Young fans will be able to meet and have pictures made with some of their favorite super-heroes. These super-heroes are local cosplayers volunteering their time to make the event very special and unique. The Hendersonville Police and Fire Department will also be attendance offering free ID fingerprinting for kids and more. Jacob Rougemont from MARVEL COMICS will be offering free super-hero sketches to kids during the event. Additionally, there be a limited number of free comic books and posters courtesy of MARVEL and DC COMICS as well.

ComicCollectorLive.com will be in attendance with their “Super Hero Yard Sale”, featuring action figures, plush dolls and more for kids who want to take home some cool super hero stuff and The Academy of Indian Lake will be providing games and food for those in attendance.

“I think this event is just as much for the parents as it is for the kids,” Boyd continues. “Comic Collector Live is proud to be working with The Academy again this year along with all our local heroes.”

The 2nd Annual SuperHero Day Event will be held on July 20th, 2013 from 10am-2pm at The Academy of Indian Lake Village located at 151 Saundersville Road in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

For more information, please call The Academy of Indian Lake Village at 615-824-1159 or GoLoco Media Group at 615-264-4747.

**Follow-up** Special thanks to Fletcher Chufong at DC COMICS for their generous donation of SUPERMAN comics, WONDER WOMAN buttons and TEEN TITANS temporary tattoos!! We're expecting a great turnout this year!

Thanks! Last year, this event was covered by 2 TV networks and our local newspaper and The Academy's corporate heads have given the Center money to make it even more successful this year. We'll also be giving out an exclusive 10% off your entire purchase at the CCL Retail Store's Grand Opening to kids as well. ;)

After the event, it should be noted that in true Lobo-like fashion, I destroyed the entire center, everyone in it and then rode off on my hog with my beloved space dolphins ;)

At the 2011 NYCC, I was in line with about 10 other people to meet Walter Simonson and get my Ballad of Beta Ray Bill TPB signed by him. When Walt arrived, he apologized to everyone and said that he had a panel he had to get to and would be gone for the rest of the afternoon. Anyone that wanted a signature would need to come back tomorrow. Then he pointed to a young girl who was waiting for him to sign a THOR hammer and said "Except for you. You come right on up." Then he made a note that kids were the future of this business.

That experience was quite inspiring and was one of the reason I wanted to do the Super Hero Day Event at The Academy. It also helps that the young lady holding the child in the picture above is my wife, Leah. She's an awesome preschool teacher at The Academy and she's a supporter of CCL as well. Additionally, it's a great way to get CCL's name out there with an awesome local event.

Am I the only one who's noticing that the cover for that FCB Superman book is the same image they used on their Man of Steel promo bookmarks?

Figured it looked familiar. Then looked on the wall of my cubicle :P

It is indeed! It's also the variant cover used for the New 52 Action Comics #1 I believe!
