If you're expecting to see lots of people in tights, or Robert Downey wander through an episode, I'd recommend you stop watching, because it's not going to happen.

This is Supernatural meets X-Files. You're not gonna have Spider-Woman wander through an episode having a conversation with Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel/Binary. You might get the names Carol Susan Jane Danvers or Jessica Drew dropped in an episode, but I wouldn't look for the costumes.

I think this might be Marvel's version of Smallville.

Buuuuut didn't Smallville have a major comics superhero from the get go?

Do they have to be in tights?.....No, but seeing Carol or Jessica pop in for say some herbal tea would be AWSOME!!! I just want to see a Marvel tv series heavy on the Marvel. Take out the movie references and change a couple of names and it could easily have been just another sci-fi series, that is albeit pretty cool. And I guess that's what the problem is, I'm not a S.H.E.I.L.D. fan, I'm a Marvel superhero fan, and that's what I was hoping this was going to be. Sad Would it be so bad if they made this more of a West Coast Avengers than an AoS tv series?

Besides, as much jak as Rob is making off of Marvel, why can't he throw in a cameo or a phone call? Actually screw that, just let his armor make an appearance, it would probably be cheaper.....and way more cool.

My reaction:

It was good. Not spectacular. But it's not like there's anything better on T.V. competing for my viewing. So I'll keep watching and see where this goes.

If they made it more of a West Coast Avengers show, than an AoS tv series, it would be West Coast Avengers. It'd also suck (cause so did the w.c.a. ...)

I think the premise of the show is pretty obvious. I mean, it's in the title: Agents of Shield. Not "Random Marvel Cameo of the Week in a Buddy-Spy Show."

Wait, WCA sucked? Huh? Maybe compared to the main title, at the beginning, when the Avengers were still good in the 80s. But not soon afterwards, the main Avengers book started sucking A LOT in the 90s. And West Coast Avengers was the place to get good Avengers stories. John Byrne wrote a lot of that and did a damn good job.

@ BruceReville:

Yes, and those were the best two minutes of the episode, IMHO.

Good episode tonight, I like the banter between Coulson & the asian girl, she's a tough cookie. Was worried a few scenes with the new girl's training were going to get sappy but thankfully they didn't (at least not much).

Yeah, they made it pretty obvious in the first episode that he's a LMD! Haven't gotten around to watching tonight's show yet.

I read a review that said he might be a LMD but they also said he might be the Vision. I can't help but wonder where that idea came from, but it could be an interesting twist.

Last night's episode was the best yet. And you know that was a set-up for Graviton appearing in the future. It's showing promise!
