Decided to use this new-fangled power of anyone being able to post polls on the boards, now. Never could post a poll in the DC section before, since my mod powers are useless here.

We all know Hal is the most popular Green Lantern. But who is the most popular runner-up?

Who's Your Favorite Green Lantern, Besides Hal Jordan?

(BTW, thanks for deleting that, Dale)

Kyle Rayner is my pick. I started reading Green Lantern at about issue #20 of the 1990 series, when Hal still starred in it, and retroactively read the Emerald Dawn origin.

Not too long after that, Kyle Rayner took over that book and Hal Jordan went all Parallax. So I grew up reading a whole lot more Kyle Rayner, than I did Hal Jordan. And I seemed to connect with the character more.

Plus, since I didn't have that connection with Hal that so many older comic fans had, I thought Parallax was an awesome villain. He was infinitely powerful (a perfect match for someone with the versatility of a Green Lantern Power Ring), and you felt for him. I mean you can't blame the guy for wanting a little payback for what happened to his hometown, and then getting upset because he was denied that vengeance by the Guardians.

Kilowog. He can build or fix ANYTHING, no ring needed.
Also, he generally doesn't even need his ring for battle.

Mogo's pretty high on my list - his capabilities are pretty far beyond those of any other Lantern.
Can't wait to see where they take the character now that Oa is gone.

Oh. Well sorry for being rude then. But for future reference, um, who's Dale then? (I think I need to stick to forum names for now on)

I also wanted to add that while Kyle Rayner is my favorite, I think the rarely seen 90s costume of Alan Scott's was the coolest looking GL costume ever:

He went by that name for while, yeah, even up into Johns' JSA run. But it was still the same powers. Only difference is he "internalized" his powers, rather than using a ring. Tried to explain that the Starheart had somehow bonded to him after he had used it for so many years.

But he was wearing the new costume before that happened, even (with a different chest symbol):

Far as I know, that was still the case with his powers up until New 52 changed everything in the DCU. He wore the ring still out of symbolism. He mentioned as much in some issue of JSA, but can't remember which, now.

The original Alan Scott has always been my favorite of the GL's, costume, history, personality, family etc.

I'm surprised to see Alan Scott get this much love, cool. I've always loved his costume, and he's always been a great leader in the JSA.

I'm even more surprised to see Kilowog beating out both Guy Gardner and John Stewart.

He's more lovable. Guy is the one you love to hate, John is the one they never really did much character development on (Mosaic was a disaster).

I'm pretty sure the guy that wrote Mosaic was on acid while doing it.
