The last few times I have started up the software I have gotten the following message:

Checking for Title Updates.

Task Failed. Please use Check for Updates to try again later.


What's up with this? Is it only me? Don't know what to do about it, please help.

Some basic trouble-shooting:

The first thing I suggest you'll want to do is check your internet connection.

Second, double check to make sure you're not working offline.

Third, restart your computer and try it again. Sometimes it's as simple a fix as that.

In the meantime, lemme get booted up here and see if I'm having any problems this morning as well. We haven't gotten any reports of anyone else having trouble, which usually means its' isolated. But let me rule that out first by trying it on my own.

Software fired up just fine for me, my friend. Try those few things I suugested above, and if that doesn't help, shoot an email over to Joe at: helpdesk@comiccollectorlive.com. It's quicker for Joe to respond this way since he doesn't do a lot of tech support in the forums :)

It's working fine now. I'm not sure what happened but everything appears to be all good.

Here's what I experienced:

4-5 times in a row when I opened the software I would get the Task Failed message. The software would then open once I clicked the Close button on the pop-up window. After the last time, I went into the software and clicked the Update button. It went through everything fine and the last two times I have opened the software I haven't gotten the Task Failed message.

So maybe it was a minor miscommunication between the software and my PC?

When I booted up the software last night to add an issue to my collection I had to add to the database, it did the same thing. It happens every once in a while.

Pretty much, but it was most likely a connection issue you were having. I've opened my software up randomly a few times just to make sure things are ok, and I don't see any problem on my end. We were having some problems with our hosting company between servers and the system wasn't holding onto images very well, but that seems to be resolved now.

Keep an eye on it and I'll keep opening randomly today and tomorrow as well just to make sure we're good Howie :)
