For the Metallica fans out there:
What is your favorite Metallica instrumental song?
-(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth (Kill 'Em All)
-Call of the Ktulu (Ride the Lightning)
-Orion (Master of Puppets)
-To Live Is To Die (...And Justice For All)
-Ecstasy of Gold (S & M)
Orion from Master of Puppets is my favorite. Such freaking awesome riffs and solos through-out that masterpiece of a song!
But all of them are fan-freaking-tastic! \m/

If you like In Flames, you'll love Disarmonia Mundi. Give them a try, despite their strange name (trust me):
Here's a link to the full album I'm currently listening to that I recently bought, and I freaking LOVE from beginning to end:
Disarmonia Mundi: Mind Tricks:

And here's a link to the single off of that album, same name as the album title:

I went through about 6 copies of this in cassette... Eventually got the idea to buy some high quality blanks and copied a brand-new cassette on to the HQ blanks.
I got the mobile hi-fidelity gold CD about 15 years ago and I picked up the Deluxe Edition on cd a couple years ago when it came out (it's got a great live disc with it).
I freakin' LOVE this album.

Dang, Nightwish can't keep a singer for the life of them!
This news a little old now, but new to me. Apparantly Annette Olzen has left the band due to "creative differences". If any Nightwish fans recall, that was the official reason they gave for the original singer's departure (Tarja). But if you also recall, there was obviously some bad blood that could be read in-between the lines. (Heck, just listen to the song "Bye, Bye Beautiful" on their 1st album with Annette, he straight lets all his anger out for Tarja in that song.) Seems from all reports, the same situation is happening between them and Annette again. Why can't Nightwish play well with others?
The new singer is Floor Jansen (how do you end up with a name like "Floor"?). She had previously temporarily replaced Annette on tour when she fell ill.
Which the band is reportedly very happy with. But then, they also expressed how happy they were with Annette. This news was a surprise to me.

Saw Kobra and the Lotus open for Def Leppard & KISS Wednesday night.
They're a pretty good metal act, gonna pick up some stuff on amazon from them.

Def Leppard opened with Let It Go - blew me away... never saw that coming.
KISS played a ton of older stuff, not the set list I was expecting at all. Gene looks like a hunch-back who's had a stroke... the make-up really can't hide his age anymore, I thought he was gonna die by the end of the show.
