Please keep in mind that I'm poking fun here...out of love! I actually enjoy a number of these movies so with tongue planted firmly in cheek - here I go.

I assume that if you're reading this post then you are a fan of comic books. You probably also like to see your favorite four color heroes leaping onto the Big Screen. If so, then I'm sure you eagerly anticipated the Adventures of Character X only to spend your hard earned shekels watching some barely recognizable mish-mash that completely fails to capture even a hint of the grandeur and majesty that your guy (or gal) deserves.

Then, to add insult to injury, no-talent hacks without even cursory knowledge of said character come crawling from their holes to bash the flick and comics in general. For every critical success there are 3 to 4 clunkers it seems.

But there are diamonds in the rough. Even the worst adaptation has it's bright spots however rare they may be. The following nine films are some of the most universally bad-mouthed but are by no means the only ones. I actually had to pare down the choices because 9 is the most you can list. Feel free to add your own Favorite Funnybook Film Flop!

Catwoman
This dreck-fest's only saving grace is the costume "worn" by Halle Berry. Drooling

Daredevil
It is worth being said that the Director's Cut of this movie is better than the theater release. But, Ben Affleck is still Daredevil in the Director's Cut. Silly

Batman & Robin
Bat-nipples, too many villains, Ah-nold, awkward moments between Bruce and Dick. Time Out

Fantastic Four
Messed up the origin story, Reed is a dimwit, Doom grows metal skin, Jessica Alba would have been better cast as The Highly Visible Woman. Laughing

Green Hornet
Wait a minute...Brit Reid is a bumbling, incompetent misogynist and Kato is the real hero? Oh, I get it! Role reversal. Confused

Green Lantern
Wow, too much too fast! Confusing and CGI heavy. Definitely not for the uninitiated. Nerd

Superman III
Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start with this one. The villain should have been Mr. Mxyzptlk! Straight Face

The Phantom
Billy Zane in head to toe purple spandex. What else is there to say. Sick

The Spirit
Not even worthy of a Samuel L. Jackson F-Bomb. Ooh

Have at it!

Daredevil, for me. I thought it was a great movie.

I'd also add The Shadow to that list. For the time, I thought it was a great adaptation. And the special effects were pretty cool looking.

Catwoman. I actually thought it was good, not great but better than most. I also enjoyed the Phantom movie.

I voted Daredevil (Director's Cut, of course). It's worth noting that after ten years people are starting to take a second look at this movie, and the fact the Director's Cut was recently released on Blu-Ray says a lot.

I agree with that! That was a movie that I went into not expecting much but ended up being pleasantly surprised.

I thought the green lantern was great, i watch it 3d all the time.

green hornet would be my number 2 pick. All the other ones i've seen and thought were pretty bad.

I liked both THE SHADOW and JOHN CARTER--but I wouldn't consider either of them as comic book movies.

I also liked SUPERMAN RETURNS, GREEN LANTERN and THE RETURN OF SWAMP THING.

I voted Green Lantern. To be honest most of the films on the list are nowhere near as bad as they are made out to be...apart from The Spirit. That was just terrible!lol

Me too. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. You're right - it was a crying shame!

I voted Green Lantern. Like others on here I think Daredevil isn't that bad. Loved Superman III as a kid but haven't seen it in years so I really don't want to comment on it. Fantastic Four was pretty decent too. Infact I like all the movies I mentioned far more than Captain America (the new Chris Evans one). To me the worst comic book movie has to be Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. Of course Spirit is a very close second.

Green Lantern. Really want a Green Lantern 2. You got to have Hal fighting Sinestro on the big screen.

(referring to an original comic book piece) This is a art gallery my friend and THIS is a piece of art.

Elijah Price "Unbreakable"
played by Samuel L. Jackson

I would as well. Hopefully the merchandising was enough to warrant it. They did do a LOT of merchandising with the movie.
