I agree with everything you said, especially the Tessmacher part. Major giggity.

So has anyone seen this yet? Good? Worth getting?

I'm wondering, because it looks like Netflix isn't getting this one, so buying it looks to be the only choice. None of the Redboxes around here carry WWE DVDs ever.

I haven't watched wrestling in a couple of months. I don't really find the PG-13 era to be entertaining at all. You will always hear chants from the fans at any Live show because it's a completely different experience than watching it on TV. It really is an adrenaline rush and completely different atmosphere than watching it on TV. Even back in the 80's and 90's they had chants for certain wrestlers. Hoooooooooooooooooooo would be for Hacksaw Jim Duggan or how about when they would chant Nugget for Owen Hart? Was it annoying when they use to chant Rocky? While fans/performance has some say in how much of a push a wrestler gets, the majority of it is all politics. RVD was stripped of the title years ago, not because he wasn't a fan favorite or couldn't wrestle but because he admitted smoking cannabis, or how about the Montreal screw job? Vince was scared that Brett was going to take the title to WCW like Alundra Blaze did at the time. Brett was okay with losing the night after but he didn't want to lose it at home and that was the original agreement but Vince changed it up on him. Maybe they do listen to the surveys but a lot of these decisions on who will be champion and for how long is known for at least a year in advance. I've never watched the Diva's reality show but reality shows have been the fad for years. They bring in ratings and to the producer that's $$$ because they can charge more for commercial spots and advertisement. At the end of the day, it's all about money/politics and not what talent certain stars have. The WWE has picked up many incredible talents from other companies over the years but done nothing with them because they don't see the same vision the original promoter had. I remember back when the Franchise Shane Douglas was amazing in ECW, he was hardcore and a total bad beep but when Vince got his hands on him, he made him Dean Douglas a college professor Shame on You. The Dudley Boys were the best in ECW, when Vince got a hold of them he made Bubba stutter? Vince doesn't believe that smaller wrestlers deserve to be in the spotlight, he has always had a muscle fetish and thought that the bigger the wrestler the more it screamed champion. I'm happy that CM Punk broke that mold by speaking up and blowing up Vince's spot. CM Punk is a gifted athlete and would have never gotten the push he got if it wasn't for all the fans.

As for the DVD BD, I don't know if you have any Pawn shops in your area but here they sell used DVD's for $1-2 and box sets for $3-5. I've found a lot of old wrestling DVD's there over the years. A 2-3 disc HBK DVD, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Monday Night Wars etc..

Oh and as far as them not listening to your surveys. They probably have tens if not hundreds of thousands of people taking them. If a minority doesn't like or want something, they tend to listen to what the majority wants.

Damn, Damien Sandow got buried, like 6 feet under. That was tough to watch.

Super-Cena is back. Looks like we're going back to WWE mediocrity again.

Man, it was nice while it lasted, though, wasn't it?

It still bothers me how Big Show always come out with music and a titantron video. It just doesn't make sense to me and I like how the Wyatts are taking out Bryan and Punk but just seems like they're going to be working for Triple H also.

If the WWE brass wants Cena to be cheered, the way he beat Damien is not going to help. I can't stand the way Cena is booked. Countless times he is getting dominated in a match only to "overcome the odds" to win. It's annoying. If he came out and called the fans names and was booked the same way he would probably become a fan favorite. I mean, look at The Rock, he was constantly doing the "overcoming the odds" crap and his popularity exploded when he went from happy go lucky Rocky Maiva to trashing the crowd as The Rock.

The whole music and titantron video thing has always been odd to me, especially in the case of a "fired" wrestler. Someone has to be pushing the button to start Big Show's entrance stuff, so everytime he shows up he should be costing a person their job too (if you want to keep with the storyline).

Another thing with the titantron and music, it seems that a majority of the time when there's a run-in or a "shocking comeback", that person always seems to come out to their music. I guess this can be explained away by saying that the guy with control over the videos is sitting right by the curtain and pushes the button for whoever walks past him but still, always has bothered me. I guess I am asking for too much when I want things to be somewhat believable.

The Wyatt thing with "the devil made me do it" I see going a couple different ways but the most plausible would be that it's Vince McMahon coming back to take control of his company and the Wyatts are going to be part of his new Corporation.

I loved it when the announcer said "Cena proved us all wrong!"

Who did he prove wrong?! Who thought Cena was gonna lose? lol

I want it, only saw it one time at Walmart now I can't find it. It's about 60 hours of content. For how much you get, it's a great price but at the time I saw it I was buying Christmas stuff so I put it off. Now I can't seem to find it in an actual store.

Never thought I'd see the day that Ultimate Warrior will take any part of WWE, but I am happy to see the Warrior where he belongs.

I was disappointed to see that Daniel Bryan broke away from the Wyatt Family Monday. I thought they passed up a golden opportunity with that storyline.

I really don't understand what the hell's going on with the Wyatts.

I agree. The Wyatts went after Kane and the Miz and so far nothing happened to either wrestler. Kane is working for the Authority and then there's the Miz doing his thing. What was the point of that? And now Bryan turning on them (even though the crowd reaction he got while doing it was incredible), that hurts the Wyatts' characters.

When he turned on the Wyatts, my first thought was that it was possibly the quickest "turn" I have ever seen. They built this thing for weeks only to have him "join" the family for two weeks. Completely lame. I hope this actually leads somewhere and isn't just them dropping a storyline and act like it never happened.

And that dang reaction he got when he turned freaking killed me. I will never get why Bryan is so popular. I just don't see it at all (as I have mentioned on previous posts, here and other sites, and have been ran down for thinking the way I do about him). It's not that he's a "vanilla midget" and I only think the big huge guys should get a shot, nothing he does impresses me. I think his mic work is terrible and his ring work, in my opinion, isn't that much better. I had heard for years about how "great" Bryan Danielson is but all I have seen is a guy that takes ten times longer to lock in a submission hold than any submission specialist in history and misses on half of his kicks. If he was around about 15 years ago, he probably would have been lucky to make it to Sunday Night Heat much less main eventing Raws and pay-per-views.

My copy of the Raw 20th Anniversary Boxed-Set came yesterday.

Tonight I watched an episode from the Attitude Era. Damn what a difference.

What surprised me is that they actually showed the "WWF" logo all over the place and the wrestlers and announcers said "WWF" and "World Wrestling Federation" without being bleeped or silenced. And the production value was a bit lower. You don't notice it, really, because it was upped in such a small amount for such a long period of time. But the Raw looked almost cheaply made, compared to today's WWE productions.

That said, it didn't diminish the entertainment value whatsoever. The promos were better. The feuds were better. The matches were better. The announcers were better. And the over-all-feel had this explosive feeling to it like anything could happen and whatever that anything was, it was going to kick ass.

You see this, of course, in the many DVD documentaries and hand-picked matches from here and there. But when you watch an entire episode of Raw from then, it really evokes and entirely different feel than the WWE of today.

And the audience, oh man, the audience was a riot in itself. They chanted during nearly every match. Like every 3 people in the audience had a sign or logo or something. And the entire time they were charged and on their feet.

I know people think a lot of us jaded wrestling fans are just looking through rose-tinted glasses about wrestling in the past. But tonight just solidified it for me, it's not just nostalgia, wrestling truly was something to behold back then. Owen Hart & The Legion of Doom vs. D-X, The Rock vs. Farooq, Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon, Undertaker vs. Kane, and Sunny! Great stuff on this particular episode.

I'm very happy with my purchase. This will provide a bit of viewing for me, for a little while.

I completely agree with you that the Attitude Era was better. It wasn't due to the "adult" storylines. It was the overall excitement throughout an episode. Nowadays there are long stretches where it seems that the crowd doesn't care that they're at a show. If Raw was 3 hours back then, I would have been stoked. Now, it's pretty hard to get through three hours (which goes down to just over 2 if you tape it and speed through replays and commercials).

Many of today's "top stars" wouldn't have been remotely relevant during that time. They would be the guy jobbing to the main event guys or lucky to be on Shotgun Saturday, Jakked, Metal, Heat, etc. I'm not sure exactly what happened to make it slide down so much. During the Monday Night Wars, there were 2 or 3 times as many people watching every week. Back then, a 4.0 and higher ratings were commonplace, now they barely get a 3.0. Also, now people seem embarrassed to let people know that they are wrestling fans, instead of proudly wearing their wrestling shirts and talking about it to everyone they know.

I am definitely going to have to get this DVD.
