Hey guys,

I dropped Red Lanterns during the last part of the whole Third Army thing. Issue #16 to be exact... But now my buddy keeps telling me that Red Lanterns has become one of DC's top series. Is this true? I'm wondering if maybe I should hop back on that wagon... Give it a shot. But I figured I'd stop by here and see what you guys think about the series first before I give it a go.

Well, I'd have to say that the book is getting better. Guy is now a Red, Rankkor and Bleez have been developed more. And Starting with the current issue (#28), Supergirl will get a red ring for a while.

Hmmm... Seems like DC might be getting more of my money if this is the case. I'm a tad of a collectionist, so if I get #29 forward (got #28 because I already collect Green Lantern), then I'll pick up the others.

I'm just a bit skeptical, because frankly the Third Army bull!@#$ is what made me drop Green Lantern Corps, as well... It was all over the place between the tie-ins...

Since Guy joined, it's been a whole lot better. I wasn't liking the initial team of Red Lanterns, either. But Guy really does fit well in this book.

And the storyline that JUST started this week, is of Supergirl becoming a Red Lantern.

I've heard/read rumors that this title is being cancelled... If that truly is the case, I won't miss it much.

The latest issue of Previews still had solicitations for it. Haven't seen anything official about it being canned. But now with Sinistro launching in March, that makes 6 GL books a month (Green Lantern, Corps, New Guardians, Red, Larfleeze, and Sinistro) and I'm not sure that DC can sustain that.

I think the whole concept of the rainbow colors of Lanterns is wearing thin.

Green Lantern already had a problem being a unique hero, with 5 GLs running around on Earth (Alan, Hal, Guy, John, Kyle), and a 6th with the addition of Simon Baz. Having multiple different Corps just adds to that. Don't get me wrong, it was a cool idea. I just think that idea has run it's course now and then some.

The Sinestro Corps are all dead, as are the Blue Lanterns (only Sinestro and Saint Walker are left of those two corps), and the Reds are down to just a handful...only about 8 or so. f

For me, I have collected Green Lantern for a few years now. I never really got into the other Lantern books except Corps but that was short lived. As far as the other Lantern books. The only other book that I was on the fence on was Red. I have a ten book max on my pull list so if I did drop a book. Red would probably fill that spot. I agree with some earlier posts about liking what they are doing in that title. Guy as a red lantern is a great move. Supergirl? Not so much in my opinion.

(referring to an original comic book piece) This is a art gallery my friend and THIS is a piece of art.

Fortunately, I don't think Supergirl being a Red will last very long.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's only 1 storyline.

But I think she fits in quite well with the group. This New 52 Supergirl has some serious abandonment issues, and anger issues which stems from that.

Yep. And to be honest, I kind of like that.

I think it's just a plot "tool" to get Walker to put his ring back on...
