Personally I can't wait to see Capaldi in action. Time will tell if he lasts long.

If he is popular the article makes it sound like they will try to sign him for more seasons.

Do you have a short list of who you would like to see play the Doctor?
My short list has three names on it:

Simon Pegg
Ewan McGregor
Idris Elba

Like the idea of Daniel Radcliffe as the Doctor, but if we are pulling from Harry Potter shouldn't we go all the way and finally have the ginger Doctor Rupert Grint

some others I'd like to see as possibilities

1. Tom Weston-Jones (His role as Kevin Corcoran showed him as both a man of action and intelligence with a passion for defending those in need, if thats not a description of the Doctor I don't know what is and with Copper cancelled a perfect place for him)

2. Dan Stevens (I know he's best know for Downton Abbey, but he has done genre work in the past and is currently the voice of TIM of the Tomorrow People. Just feel he could make an interesting Doctor.)

3. Martin Freeman (from seeing him as John Watson in Sherlock and Bilbo in The Hobbit he could definitely step in as the Doctor)

The Day of the Doctor is upon us! What did you think of the special?! I won't spoil it but I personally thought they did a fantastic job! The chemistry between the Doctors was amazing and Clara...oh sweet sweet Clara Whistle

I dig the Doc Martens but the rest of the outfit seems a bit frumpy...

I feel they should have gone with a monochromatic suit w/ a shorter blazer, but I agree with you... they'll tailor as needed. I'm loving the fact that they're making him an angrier butt-kicking doctor a la Eccleston. Goofy was fun (& I'll enjoy it when it's back) but I need a lil' punk rock in my doctor now & then!Raised Eyebrow
