For some reason recently my mind has been busy contemplating villainy. Not my own of course, but that of animated masters of mayhem. Those vile beings who plot and scheme trying to come up with new ways to dominate and enslave the inhabitants of whatever realm they occupy.

Some are forgettable or regrettable but there are the few that shine through the muck as brilliant examples of evilness. These titans of terror command vast armies and powerful underlings and maintain their grip on power despite the usurping tendencies of some of their minions.

So which one of these Cartoon Villains would you anoint Paragon of Pandemonium?

Megatron
Giant transforming robot and ruler of the Decepticons.
Main rival: Starscream

Cobra Commander
Masked Supreme Leader of the Cobra organization
Main rivals: Destro, Serpentor

Doctor Claw
Maniacal Mastermind of M.A.D.
Main rival: probably the cat

Desslok
Gamilon Generalissimo and space warlord
Main rivals: Queen Starsha, Comet Empire

Skeletor
Horrid Head of the Horde
Main rivals: Hordak, King Hiss

Shredder
Ninja Master and sensei of the Foot Clan
Main rival: Krang

Mumm-Ra
Ever Living Source of all Evil on Third Earth
Main rivals: Ancient Spirits of Evil

Gargamel
Creepy Old Guy who preys on Little People
Main rival: Chris Hansen

For this poll I'm going specifically on the cartoon/animated versions of these characters and have deliberately omitted comic book based villains. If there is someone I haven't listed please tell me who you like. Tell me why and provide pics if you wish!

I had to go with Wile E. Coyote. Nobody came up with more nefarious plans than he did for catching the Road Runner. Of course they never worked but he never stopped trying either.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.

Tough one but I went with Other. I cast my vote for Bloth (sp?) from Pirates Of Dark Water.

Mumra the Ever-Living!

If only for the reason that he came off as an actual, dark and evil threat. Most of those other villains had some goofiness or incompetence about them that kind of killed any chance to come off in the same way.

Of course I went with Magatron!

Honorable mentions:
Mon-starr from Silverhawks
Dr. Scarab from Bionic Six
Myles Mayhem from M.A.S.K.

I went with Mumm-Ra. He was actually genuinely creepy in some episodes. Although I would have to say Megatron should get a vote for being the most iconic.

I was suprised Desslok was on that list.

With that being said Desslok makes all the other cartoon villians on that list look like boy scouts.

Back in the day when villians were just out to rule the world for ruling the world stake.

Desslok was committing genocide at a global level, executing incompent subordiants and talking smack to anyone in ear shot. All right after school in the early 80's.

Exactly! Star Blazers came on at 4:00 and the school bus dropped me off in the neighborhood at about 3:45. I would sprint home so that I could sing along with the opening theme song and watch the adventures of the Argo and it's crew.

Desslok kind of scared me (I was 12, I guess?) because he didn't look evil but he was bad-@$$! He seemed very pleasant at times but wouldn't hesitate to pop a cap in someone who looked at him the wrong way. Plus his subordinates were nothing to sneeze at either. Sure, some of them were numbskulls but most were pretty fierce themselves.

That cartoon was a changing event for me. Before that I had been watching Mickey Mouse, Flintstones, Yogi Bear, etc. and the concept of a continuing story just flabbergasted me. At the end of each episode when the announcer would say, "Hurry Star Force! The Earth only has (x) amount of days!" A chill would run down my back and I would actually be nervous that they wouldn't succeed.

One of my favorite 'toons ever.

Growing up Johnny Quest, Space Ghost and Super Friends were my favorite cartoons. When Thundercats came out. It brought me back to when I was a kid. Good stuff. Mumm-Ra for sure. Loved Starblazers too. Desslock second.

(referring to an original comic book piece) This is a art gallery my friend and THIS is a piece of art.

Yeah, I feel very lucky that it was shown on local TV where I grew up. I thought everybody was watching it and it wasn't until I got older that I came to realize that some poor unfortunate souls missed out.

I have the entire series on VHS plus all of the movies. Too bad my VCR doesn't work anymore.Crying

Go to Goodwill. You can get one for like $5-$10, and you can plug them in right there in the store to test them.

I got the first season on disk somewhere, I kind of wore them out on my first deployment though I'll see if I can resurrect them for you.

I voted for Megatron, but what Cobra Commander did at the beginning of Resolute was epic.
