True. Too bad someone used a hole puncher on the top left corner that goes all the way through the damn comic. But it's one less issue to finish my Amazing Spider-Man collection.

Excellent! It's good to hear that new comic stores are opening. How does it look? Do they offer subscriptions? Back issues?

A lot of his business is gaming and subscriptions. He doesn't have a lot of back issues but frankly he is avoiding them due to the expense and the locale wouldn't support it.

It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is nice and he has several comfy couches that aren't in the gaming area. I'm hoping he does well.

Arrived from an ebay win today:
ADVENTURE COMICS 447fvf 448fvf 451f+ 466vf+

Back issues can be a tricky proposition. There are 3 local stores where I live. One has a very small space, because it's part of a larger chain of stores near a college campus. There's a comic book/music store, connected to a book store, connected to a bead store (like, jewelry-making beads) and beanie babies and what-not. They have some back issues, but nothing major.

The second store has a very large back issue selection, but they're too expensive. Nothing's below cover price, which is fine if it's worth more than cover price, but run-of-the-mill back issues generally aren't $3 + .25 for a bagboard combo. Not when I can find them at any convention in the .50 boxes.

The third store is my store, and they have a lot of .50 back issues on the floor, but most of their inventory is here on CCL, which, to be honest, makes it a pain for most people to try to purchase anything from the back issues.

I went to Indy PopCon today in Indianapolis. Had a pretty good time. Hopefully they'll be able to get bigger to compete with the big boys in the future. There were a lot of artists ... just none I'd really ever heard of. Joe Staton and Norm Breyfogle (and Kevin Eastman) were really the only comic artists I'd heard of. And Dave Dorman! Got a nice Yoda sketch by Dorman today. :)

But all the artists, despite not really being big names, were nice and friendly. Had fun talking with Dorman and Franchesco (he of Zenescope fame). Bought two Franchesco sketchbooks, and he did a nice Batgirl freebie sketch in my sketchbook for me. Extremely nice guy!

Anyway: the pick-ups!

Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #86
Avengers: Solo #3 John Tyler Christopher Move Cover
Crypt of Dawn #4
Dawn #2 Mystery Book (Limited)
