something that really bugs me is when comic shops but little price tags on the cover of a valuable comic. its okay if its on the sleeve but when its on the cover, why would you do that!? if your buying it just to read its really not that big of a deal but if it has collector value, it just decreased drastically! and what about when its a variant and they put on a little variant sticker on the cover. just put it on the sleeve!
I LOVE COMICS! :)

Shop at My Store
I know what you mean, TJ. I got some comics at the Free Comic Book Day event back in May that had stickers on them. I would rather people wouldn't do that.
What comics do you like to read other than Sonic?

Some of the stores here use a rubber stamp to put their store name, address, etc etc on them...
So much for a brand new NM book!

Stamping and stickers? Directly on the comic? What the heck. Really? That would drive me nuts. They would definitely lose my business.
(referring to an original comic book piece) This is a art gallery my friend and THIS is a piece of art.

I don't like it either, but FCBD books usually have blank spaces on their cover specifically for shops to put their advertising on.

I never understood this. I just started going to a comic store recently because they have quite a few bins of quarter or 5 for $1 comics. Now I know why the comics are 25cents or 5 for $1...most of them have little price stickers on them. I'm able to peal them off without ripping the comic itself, but where the sticker was there's some discolor there.

I don't like it either, but FCBD books usually have blank spaces on their cover specifically for shops to put their advertising on.
That's because those "free" comics aren't free to the comic shop. Stores are charged an average of about $.35 to $.40 per FCBD comic, plus postage. They are purchased as advertising material to help promote the store. They are tax deductible as an expense item and a neatly done stamp or label is not considered a defect when it comes to grading if done in the designated area.
The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.
