Long story short - my girlfriend's, sister's husband is from England and he just gave me a stack of Mad Magazines that he collected as a youth and he wants me to sell them. At first I thought these were simple price variations to the US Mad Mags. After some research I now am convinced that it is actually a wholly separate title.

Here is my evidence:

This site is pretty definitive - Mad Mag - UK

here is the wiki link and the pertinent info - MAD Wikipedia entry
Quote:
One steady form of revenue has come from foreign editions of the magazine. Mad has been published in local versions in many countries, beginning with the United Kingdom in 1959, and Sweden in 1960. Each new market receives access to the publication's back catalog of articles and is also encouraged to produce its own localized material in the Mad vein.

Here is the US version of this cover #220

and the UK version #226

Now I will show you the respective Table of Contents for each issue

US

UK

Furthermore, the publishers are different. The US Mad's are by E.C. Publishing and the UK magazines are Suron International Publications.

Finally, the interiors of the ones I have compared so far are indeed different. The inside front cover ads are all different and the content inside is dissimilar.

In the CR's I will be submitting I will refer to this post and add any additional pertinent information that I discover.

Same thing is true for Heavy Metal, there are a lot of issues that were sold in the UK/Europe that have different internal features or covers. Keep up the good work.

Based on your evidence, I'd agree that they're separate titles.
