#12 MOST VALUABLE ITEM IN MY COLLECTION

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #301 IN 7.0 FINE/VERY FINE CONDITION
VALUED AT $14.00

I am not exactly sure where I got this one. I do believe this was in one of the very first comiccollectorlive purchases I ever made. I am not entirely certain though. This may have been another one that I had when I was a youngster.

#11 MOST VALUABLE ITEM IN MY COLLECTION

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #22 IN 9.2 NEAR MINT- CONDITION
VALUED AT $16.00

I bought this one from a comic store near where my parents live, in Ohio....a comic store that is no longer there, sadly.
Also, none of these images, including this faded one, are the actual comic I own. They are all brought off the internet just for viewing purposes.

#25 MOST VALUABLE PIECE OF MY COLLECTION

ALPHA FLIGHT Vol. 1 #33 IN 7.0 FINE/VERY FINE CONDITION
VALUED AT $8.00

I admit, I am a VERY strict grader. Most would probably have this one valued higher.
I got this issue with my Marvel subscription.

I was insanely excited because I had already enjoyed Byrne on Alpha Flight, THEN they brought Wolverine for another story WITH a semi reformed Magneto.

Awesomeness

This is another one I picked up at our preferred LCS while my ladies were getting their new books.

Bought this one with a subscription from Westfield Comics I think. MacFarlane was awesome then they had his cool storyline. Still one of my favs.

#18 MOST VALUABLE ITEM IN MY COLLECTION

ACTION COMICS #684 IN 8.5 VERY FINE+ CONDITION
VALUED AT $10.50

I went on a comic buying spree the summer between my Junior and Senior year in college. Picked this one up then.
I didn't buy the Death of Superman comics until 2014 or so.

I built the entire set and sold it...I should have read it first.

Oh well, I'll build it again.

Pretty sure I got this one in a big collection I got when I bought out a comic store years back.

Bought this from Westfield Comics probably.

This was around the time I just started skimming the comics and not really reading them.

I was buying 2 of all copies of everything....I was investment mode...

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #21 CIVILIAN COVER IN 7.5 VERY FINE- CONDITION
VALUED AT $13.50

I bought this one at an LCS during free comic day a few years ago.
Bought this right off the rack from the local Safeway grocery store.

It really was a big deal back then.

But the cover put me off...I wanted action, not nuptials...

#7 MOST VALUABLE ITEM IN MY COLLECTION

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #3 IN 2.5 GOOD + CONDITION
VALUED AT $22.50

I Have some confusion on how to grade silver and golden age books. I have seen notes that indicate they are done differently. Since I am not sure, i just grade them the same way I do my moderns and coppers. As such, this comic may be graded lower than it should.
Awesome comic though, regardless.

I bought this one as filler at my favorite local comic shop. Probably on free comic day when he has good deals. I have built a semi decent run of Amazing Spider-man comics.

Still loving this thread, only four more to go!

I'm actually having fun trying to speculate what some of the final issues are going to be. (I know which ones I'm betting on.)

I know I've given a cursory thought to what my top 25 would be... and unfortunately I think that most would also turn out to begin with 'A' as well... just because that title is the only one that I've collected any issues of from before late 1969... and I'm only missing 5 of them.

Thanks!

This just started as a silly vanity thing to do during the lockdown. I'm having fun with it, though and might do a yearly update.
