I have just seen Amazing Spider-Man on Blu-Ray. I think it wasn't a WOW film but a solid film with far less Lizard time than was to be expected. Andrew Garfield was the absolute correct choice as Spidey. I REALLY loved the scene in the film with the car thief. Spidey's response was classic Spider-Man: "Oh no small knifes are my weakness". That kind of classic Spider-Man talk has, next to the scene where Spidey is swinging under the bridge, been missing in the Spider-Man films. And why was Gwen brought back? I mean she "died" way back in 1973 and even Bendis killed her off in the Ultimate Spider-Man series (I really miss that series), only to bring her back via a Carnage(?) clone.I bet if Marvel ever has a DC Comics style reboot that Gwen would come back I think it's quite obvious that Goblin will appear in Spidey 2. But please don't cast a second villain because that usually backfires (see Spidey 3). Finally don't let Spidey unmask in Amazing Spider-Man 2 as quick as he does in this movie. I always wonder why the heroes in the movies actually wear a mask because it's usually destroyed or he takes it off so the entire world knows the "secret identity" at least once or twice in the film.

I've always like Gwen Stacy better than Mary Jane so I'm glad they introduced her first for the reboot. It's been confirmed though that Mary Jane and Harry Osborn will appear in the sequel.

Not liking that MJ will be in the sequel though. Hate these love triangles in stories. http://www.myspace.com/kidlippy

But one of my favorite scenes of the movie is after Uncle Ben's death Flash tries to convey his sympathies to Peter and Peter slams him up against the locker thinking he's going to try and bully him. Then Gwen goes over and hugs Peter. I thought it was touching and gave more dimension to Flash, showing that eventually they become friends and that he's not just a big dumb jock all the time.
