New JUSTICE LEAGUE debuts with 52 U.S. state flag variant covers

Media Release -- Coming up in the December Previews catalogue, DC Entertainment solicits JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1, the explosive new series from the superstar team of writer Geoff Johns and artist David Finch!

The series starts off with a bang, as DC offers it with 52 U.S. flag variant covers!

The standard edition cover to JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 features the flag of the United States. Each U.S. flag variant editions features the flag of a state, plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.

In addition, you may order a shrinkwrapped Complete Pack of the standard edition of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 plus all 52 variant covers, with a suggested retail price of $149.99 US. This item is available at DC's standard discount levels.

There is no minimum purchase needed to order these variants or the Complete Pack.

In addition, this issue is offered as a combo pack edition with a redemption code for a digital download of this issue with a cover price of $4.99.

In JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1, the march toward TRINITY WAR begins with part one of "WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS"! Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Catwoman, Katana, Vibe, Hawkman and Stargirl aren't the world's greatest super heroes—they're the most dangerous! But why does a team like the JLA need to exist? What is their ultimate mission? And who is pulling the strings? Plus: Find out why Martian Manhunter is the most dangerous of them all. Period.

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 is solicited in the December Previews and is scheduled to arrive in stores on February 6. This 40-page issue has a cover price of $3.99.

Variants are like the gimmick covers of the 2000s. It's becoming too much.

The complete pack is a sweet deal if a person was going to try to get all the covers (and I'm sure that people will do so)... it's about $60 off cover price.

this is the type of stuff that is slowly pushing me out of comics again, I know I don't have to buy them (and I don't) but this variant craze just ruins me on the whole hobby

Agreed, and I hope this backfires in DC's face! The best way for this to backfire is for the LCS across America to not order them. Let 'em sit and collect dust in DC's warehouses. It's the only way, and I've been saying it since the variant craze began back in the 80's/90's, that it's gonna stop. Either store owners have to call BS and not order them, or the consumer has to stop shelling out their dough for this type of ridiculous stunt.

Winter is coming...
