so whats your favorite or top independent comics from the 80's? of course TMNT's are up i'm sure but what else did you read when you were reading in the 80's? i'm a 90's kid but have been reading a lot of stuff from the 80's lately. i've been digging grim jack, strike!, fish police, and american flag. just great stuff. the super hero books can start to dry you out.

Judge Dredd was the first indie book to take me away from being a true Marvel die hard. I recommend the Eagle series, that was the first to bring Dredd to the U.S. And of course, there's Deadworld.

Dreadstar for all out drama & slobberknocker brawls. Nexus for adventure & a good dose of pathos Groo & Fish Police were just plain fun. Pacific for a variety of comic book goodness. Miracleman was probably the most well done. "Do you hear that Mr.Anderson? That's the sound of inevitability!"

He'll yeah, ya gotta say deadworld, then add in twisted tales, tales of terror, body count, and tons of other great copper age horror. A great decade.
