Has anyone picked up this book yet? If you haven't then damn ya need to go and get it. I'm sure this isn't going to be everyone’s cup of tea but Paul Tobin has crafted a great story and Juan Ferrevra's artwork ... amazing! I usually don't get into Dark Horse much unless it's Star Wars. However I was intrigued by the plot prior to its release. I feel like the answer to everything is on the next page, biting my nails as I turn the page, damn...still no real answer, just more information...really grabs you.
So far it seems that a demon or something feeds off of the sick and insane because they are different, crazy, and accessible, whereas the sane and mentally healthy are not. Declan is our main character, touched by this demon, a seed planted to grow within him. Declan body temperature begins to drop as the mental institution around him burns down to the ground.
Enter Reece, a girl taking care of this anomaly of science ~70 years later and he awakens. Book 2 is where the story gets good and we are taken to what Declan calls "The Hungry World", where these creatures walk around looking for crazies, but it's too cold and they can't stand being near Declan so they leave. Of course then some people die...you know...it's a good read.
