After all the build up and hype machine action someone not only leaked the ending but they leaked scanned pages from issue 700 (just google amazing spider-man 700 spoilers). I was already over my love for the book at the start of this final story arc..and I am not impressed with the way the series ends. I am sorry but issue 700 is my last Spider-Man book (only because my OCD is compelling me to see it through until the end).

It all seems like a huge waste of time now. Why bother with OMD if this is all they were going to do with the character down the road.

I found the spoiler. I have no idea what I think about this... They're really going to have to change characters around to let this happen... I just don't think it fits.

This arc doesnt make much sense anyway.How did Ock get Petes memories when they switched consciounces(sp?) ?

It all leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth about the whole Spiderman franchise. I think I'm about done with it.

I think we should give it a little and perhaps it may not turn out to be so bad. Slott has done pretty good so far with alot of his runs and who knows it might be some sort of cool twist. Besides I am sure it will end up getting reversed. Just keep calm and hopefully the ride will be fun like raging bull and not terrible like the whizzer. (extra points for people who get that reference. Not comic related).

Ok. Let me begin this by saying I get Amazing Spider-man by subscription from Marvel. Yeah, not doing that again.
I read the spoilers and they make no sense to me at least. Seems like a dumb move...
Course, they probably won't until I read #699 and #699.1, which have arrived, but I am waiting on #698 to come. Grr. I thought DC was bad, but this is sad. I bought 699.1 because the last point-one issue in Amazing was not part of my subscription. If it wasn't for #700 being $7.99 (can we say whorish gouging), I would just tell them to send my money back for whatever they owe me.

I just read this issue.
I believe this to be poor writing. To pull off such a convoluted storyline, you need to be concise yet detailed with the information you give to your readers and this just doesn't seem to pull it off. The whole 'switch' bit is hackneyed and doesn't deliver. Perhaps if it were written by someone else, it would give that emotional impact that I think it was shooting for..
Anyhow, bad issue. Bad overall storyline. I may later go back and read some of the additional material but at this point, Spider-man is dead to me :)
