Ok I have been meaning to ask this but always forgot until now. The only difference I see between the two comics is the blank UPC on one, but I always thought that was a newsstand edition? Am I wrong? Why is this issue a variant? Spectacular spiderman 24B Here is the regular edition: I own a Spectacular Spiderman #27 that is the exact same with the blank UPC, so is it a variant as well? Also #11 came with a blank UPC block as well.

If you look in the Story Arc field of 24B, you will see that it is tagged as a Marvel Whitman Pack Edition issue. This means it was sold in a sealed package of, I think, 3 issues. The difference is the blank UPC box, the different price box and the name next to the CCA seal. That is what I noticed. I am not an expert on those issues. Signature design by CCL's own DrFate SpiderFan.org

Ahh missed that, will have to scan my #27 and #11 for the DB then

The copy with the barcode is the newsstand comic. The one with out the barcode was probably bagged with a couple of other comics, and probably sold in a non-newsstand, non-direct outlet (like a department store chain, or five-and-dime chain). It would probably have been distributed by Whitman or another distributor who tried bagged comics only briefly in the 1970s. Your Spectacular Spider-Man #27 and #11 are probably similar in history and source.
