I know the new site stuff is being worked on (or talked about), so I thought this might be a good time to throw this out there.

Dwolla (google it - not linking per CCL policy) is a fairly new payment gateway. Transaction fee structures are as follows: Anything under $10 free, anything over a flat 25 cent fee.

The catch: Same as paypal, you must have the funds in your "account", so you can link your bank account to withdraw or add funds. This can take a few days.

Also, both sides must have a Dwolla account for the transaction to go through. It is not a credit card processing site, it is basically it's own merchant site.

Because it is fairly new, not many sites / sellers have this as an option. I signed up awhile ago, but have had little chance to use it. I'm not sure about the integration (Jim, maybe you might have some insight as to how hard/possible it would be?).

Anyways, it seems pretty interesting and I think this has the possibility to be a game changer if it catches on. I'm sure the sellers would find the fee structure useful most of all. They are all about transparency in fees and have got some major backing this year.

So, add this to my 50+ other wishlist items for CCL.

Anybody else using this?
Casey

I never heard of it before this post, but it sounds like a good idea. I'm for it.

Sounds interesting, Casey. Less fees are always good! Do you know if you can print labels through Dwolla, like you can in PayPal?

I doubt it, but I haven't fully explored all their options. I know they are developing integration with POS and shopping carts, but I don't know much more than that.

Always up for new ideas, especially when it comes to alternative payment methods, although I bet those fees are a promotional rate to attract customers. Still, Paypal makes $ hand over fist, any competition is good.

Hmmm, yes. And we all know how free promotional rates to attract new customers works out for websites... *cough* *cough* .

I don't think they are changing their price structures though, they have been around since 2010 and seem to be humming. I hope it catches on though, I really despise Paypal.

I think CCL should allow for jumps/links to all credible, established online payment companies. Should be more options than just Paypal in the checkout.

I'd be all for supporting multiple pay methods.
