I am a chef and this is my time to shine! Here's what I am preparing for our guests. Everything is hand made. I don't open boxes or cans or use mixes, not that there's anything wrong with that, I just prefer to do it the old-fashioned way. I will probably go through about a pound of butter. (The real stuff)

Turkey will be seasoned and wrapped in bacon. About an hour before it's done cooking I remove the bacon and turn up the heat briefly to crisp the skin.

Pork Roast with Orange Glaze
Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Giblet Gravy
Swirled Sweet Potatoes with Cauliflower and Parmesan Puree
Steamed Broccoli Rabe with Rainbow Peppers
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Toasted Walnuts
Spanakopita - Greek Spinach and Feta Pie
Pasta Shells stuffed with Ricotta and baked with tomato sauce
Granny Smith Apple Sauce
Green Tomato and Jalapeno Chutney
Antipasto - Italian marinated salad with meat, cheese and veggies
Mac n Cheese (for the kids!)

I don't do the desserts, that's a job for the relatives!

Needless to say, tomorrow is going to be a heavy prep day. I'm hoping to get everything either cooked or ready to cook so Thursday morning I will just have to finish things off.

Tell us what you're having!

I always try to make too much that way we can send people home with leftovers. Plus I'm expecting 13-15 people, 7-9 adults, 2 young adults (college boys who eat a lot!) and 4 kids.

My girlfriend's dog is usually the happiest one in the house! Lots of table scraps.

I decided against the deep-fried bacon wrapped butter with cheese sauce this time around! Drooling

Sounds like you are in the hospital. Are you OK? On a diet, maybe?

Have surgery on the 23rd and will be very inactive for about a month plus so I am trying to drop 20 lbs so I don't balloon up - already put on about 30 lbs from not being as physically active as I am used to. Sad Hopefully a couple of months after surgery I can get back to some physical activity.Pray
