Didn't hit up the LCS on Wednesday because it was a blizzard, roads were terrible, and traffic was a disaster.

Took today off and got some presents bought and swung by the funny book store - YAY!

Getting stuff out of the car and the bag of books slips out of my hand and hits the floor...
Well there go all the corners on those books!
but wait, after landing vertically and smashing all the corners, the bag tips towards my wife's side of the garage and all the books spill out into a puddle of that black nasty sludge/slush that builds up in your wheel wells and then makes a ghastly mess all over the garage floor.

SPLAT - Every book ruined.

The horrors of First World "problems"!
Rolling Eyes

Still, a long and loud stream of profanity issued from my lips.

my hands/arms were full, so I had to go set everything down before I could pick them up.

Always bring the comics in first - everything else can wait - to include putting the vehicle in park

It was your wife's side of the car...blame her.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.
Comics Castle-AKA Pat McCauslin
Alpha Comics--ComicVortex--Comic Cellar--Hall of Heroes--Swifty's Olde Tyme Comic Shoppe

As soon as I saw the word blizzard I started cursing for you. I've had lots of times I've gotten home and had a bunch of stuff to bring in and I do the comics in a trip buy themselves. My wife laughs at me.

Wow. I've never been to one that didn't.

Online I get em without bags and boards often, but I've never stepped foot into an actual comic shop that didn't do that.

I, like Xylob, have never been to one that did. Not even for subscribers.

Too bad about the books.

My "local" shop doesn't bag and board anything new. Come to think of it even their back issue section is bagged but not boarded. The other shop I deal with in Maine bags and boards everything as soon as they unpack it.

My LCS bags and boards everything for their subs, but you have to ask for and pay for a b/b combo if you pick something off the shelf.

Of course, I'm one of the few exceptions ... because I prefer current, not silver. :) But last time I re-organized my collection, I put two issues per combo, and now have 2 long boxes of empties to re-use. LOL.

Dang, that sucks dude. I hope at least it was something easy to replace and not your copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 or Incredible Hulk #181. Rain Silly

the 2 closest comic shops that I deal with(50 miles away in 2 different directions)only bag and board back issues and not even all of them.definitly not new issues but I can understand that it would cut into the profit.
