Just read that DC is doing another round of MAD Magazine variant covers for several of the New 52 books in April. They did these last year and I hated them. I get that many people really enjoy and/or have a great deal of nostalgia for MAD, I'm just not one of them.

I'm far more excited about the February variants. Several DC titles are getting Steampunk variant covers. The ones I've seen look really good. You can take a look at some of them here, and a few more here.

+1

I don't collect WW, but that cover is amazing. I'll probably only get the variants for the titles I collect...and maybe WW. Tongue

They're mostly, if not all, 1:25, which make them a little easier on the wallet, but my shop still won't get most of them. I believe there's a Steampunk Batgirl variant coming out during that trend.

For my taste I prefer the Mad variants and really don't care for these Steam Punk variants at all. The only one I'll be looking for is the Detective because it has a dinosaur cover. I collect all dinosaur covers. The new Turok #1 is going to really test my ability and desire with all the variants it will have.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.

Lol. The steampunk image of Wonder Woman with Superman carrying all the bags. It makes Wonder Woman look like a warrior princess minus the warrior part. It also reminds me of Xmas shopping with the wife. PASS!!

This thread has been mostly about the DC books but I really like the Skottie Young Marvel covers. There's a Infinity Captain America cover that I'd love to see as a high quality print. I may even have it scanned and DIY if it doesn't show up in distribution

That's because it's in the DC forum.
