Do you buy digital comics or pay extra for the Combo Packs?

My personal experiences with the digital comics is that they're a pain to read, especially on a small screen. I tried first on my PSP and that was a complete waste of time.
Tried again on a smartphone, but still just frustrating and pointless.
Eventually I tried some on my nook tablet, but still not as good as the 'real thing'. Having to zoom in/out constantly and drag the page around the screen is just no good.

What about you?

Reading digital books on my iPad isn't bad. I have a few books there mostly due to the freebie books available on Comixology (only time I've ever paid for digital is to catch up on the first few issues of Saga since they were too pricey to buy at the LCS). Sometimes the text is a little hard to read, but since you can blow up the page that's not a huge deal.

(didn't vote, they aren't great or useless. lol)

I find that MOST of the time, the guided view works really well for sequentially reading the panels. But I don't think digital comics reflect the artistry of the full page. If you have to zoom to find detail, then you can't look at the whole thing as it was originall drawn.

Guided view is really hard to follow when the panels overlap or there are a lot of small skinny panels.

On the other hand, loading a few books into my nook or phone for a trip certainly saves packing space.

I highly recommend the DC: Injustice comics for online reading. The printed work is still better, but the pages were actually drawn in tablet dimensions (each page is two landscape tablet pages stacked upon eachother) ... or any of the DC Digital First stuff. Legends of the Batman, Batman 66, Adventures of Superman ... Batman Beyond Universe, I think?

But nothing will ever replace the printed stuff for me.
