We’re excited to announce that independent comic book publisher ACTION LAB ENTERTAINMENT will be working with COMICCOLLECTORLIVE.COM to promote each other’s products and services.

From ACTION LAB’s website:

"The Action Lab is a group of mad scientists who collectively have over 25 years of comic book creating experience. After slaving in obscurity and alone for lo, these many years, these quasi-evil geniuses have now gathered together from around the globe to form a secret research and development collective devoted to world domination through the purification of the comic book art form. The Action Lab has sworn to use its powers for a single purpose — to bring the world the most action packed, most thought-provoking, most entertaining comics available, thereby ushering in a new age of world peace under the dominating yet benign control of the Action Lab.

Their first major release, FRACTURE, was released in July 2011 followed by the now two-time Eisner nominated and five-time Glyph nominated PRINCELESS in October 2011. Action Lab continues to publish genre spanning comics from the all-ages MONSTERS ARE JUST LIKE US, and mature reader books like SNOWED IN and DOUBLE JUMPERS.”

As many of you know, ComicCollectorLive.com has shared promotional partnerships with major comic book publishers and companies in order to help make people more aware of Comic Collector Live’s website, software and brand. ACTION LAB is a fine example of a comic book publisher that respects the comic book genre, creates quality and enjoyable content, and actively promotes their comic titles with a level of enthusiasm and creativity that honors the comic industry.

I'm super excited to working on these partnerships. Look forward to seeing CCL getting more love in the Comics! :)

Holly can come out and introduce herself when she gets a chance, but we're working together to get CCL's name back into the comics as well as streamline our social media avenues. We're very happy to have ACTION LAB on board and you'll start seeing brand new Comic Collector Live ads in their upcoming titles. Be sure to check out ACTION LAB's titles and support them as well!

Print ads in comics again!?!?!?

Even if it's from an independent publisher, this is very good news. Since I'm a dealer, I've cared more about advertising far more than I've cared about any software update.

Thank you! Now let's snowball this to get back into Marvel and DC books (or at least advertising on their websites)!

We feel the same way and I'm really happy at the momentum we're getting. Watch this space closely over the next week or so. Just saying ;)

Any advertising is good advertising, even if it is closed loop advertising.

I'm a buyer and I care more about advertising then any update as well. While CCL is outdated it does work. Even if the NEW CCL is the best in the world if nobody sees it what good is it. New customers means stores make more money, the more money stores make the more they have to spend on NEW inventory and thats what I want, new, new, NEW! lol

That is where the money is at, large companies bring in large amounts of viewers.

While I'm thrilled to see anything happening, some real time data from the front of the store says Action Labs has two titles in the entire front.

We brought in Vamplets Nightmare Nursery for the kids based on having given away all those mini comics to the kids last year at Halloween Comicfest and the result so far has been one sale of one issue to a kid I don't expect to see on CCL at least not in the next 10 years or so.

The other Action Labs title we get is Zombie Tramp for two customers, one of which is already a CCL user and shopper. The other guy I believe only squirrels them away without reading as investment books.

That being said, is there anything Action Labs is doing that should be stocked and pushed because it's (Fill-in-the-blank)? The walk-ins aren't asking for anything so it looks like it's a we build them up option instead of them building CCL up and hope if they become a large company they don't jack the advertising rates up higher than CCL's willingness to pay since they don't need us as much anymore. It's not to late to get added to the October deliveries if there's anything good.

PS; Do you think anyone at Action Labs has noticed six months into the series with the last issue coming out tomorrow that none of the 6 issues are in the database?

While I can't really speak on any other individual's experiences with ACTION LAB products (because those are your experiences), I can address a few of these points based off of my own.

I don't know if you've ever had the chance to go to a DIAMOND RETAILER SUMMIT, but if you haven't, I highly suggest you go to at least one. CCL: THE STORE (our brick and mortar comic shop experiment) was nominated for a Retailer Award last year and we got the chance to meet and interact with several comic publishers in both Las Vegas and New York City. It was at the Summits I got my first really close looks at ACTION LAB's stuff, particularly their title PRINCELESS, which I thought was quite cool :) They were very enthusiastic and proud of their products and comics line and looking back, I remember thinking they stood out to me personally because of that enthusiasm. Plus I already had some interaction in the past with Jamal Igle (who handles Marketing and Publicity for A.L.) when he was guests on the old FANBOY BUZZ podcast I used to be a part of a few years back.

CCL has a history and is proud to work with smaller independents because they share the same love for the industry that we do. Are they a DISNEY or WARNER BROTHERS? No, and they definitely won't be if not given the exposure to their audience. They've got some fun new titles coming out and since you're a part of CCL, and they're working with CCL, there's even more reason to support these guys. It's good all the way around for both CCL and ACTION LAB and we'll have more great stuff to share with you in the days ahead.

And as Chris mentioned above, we're working on adding some of those ACTION LAB titles, but hey, it's a community database! Get out there and add some too if you have time :)

1st let me say, it is awesome seeing so many new CCL Staff banners all over the forums. Were some made for those hard working approvers or moderators? Is one of those spiffy new Staff Banners going to say "Head of Marketing"?

Again advertising is awesome, and I am trying to stay super positive so hopefully it works out and CCL advertises more. Anxious

I assume that would be this thread's original poster, Hollydynamite, since the tag at the bottom of her post says "Holly Gugenheim, Marketing Director"
