I love Barbara Gordon back as Batgirl, but what happened to Steph? I though she was brilliant, she was working with Babs, but now she's nowhere to be find...WTF!!!!Eh?

This is true for many characters in the New 52. Steph may show up at some point, but probably not as Batgirl.

There was a campaign to send waffles to DC COMICS to force/coerce them to bring Stephanie back...? Maybe this wasn't successful? lol

According to an interview Dan Didio gave at Emerald City this year...

I started off asking him how many waffles he got and he said about ten,(I wouldn’t be shocked if he rounded down) so I said there doesn’t seem to be as much demand as it appeared. He told me “yeah, there isn’t really any ground swell support for the character”. I then asked about the planned Stephanie Brown appearance in Smallville and Didio’s reaction was “They never should have done that.” He felt pretty strongly about it, emphasising it three times. He said that first of all as Stephanie was never Nightwing, there was no reason to put her in the comic as that character and that Smallville is about Superman and not Batman, so there’s no real point in putting Stephanie in to appease a small amount of fans, and the writer of the comic.

He was clearly rather annoyed about the situation, but the general feeling I got from him was that he believes only a few vocal fans actually care about the character. He pointed out the last time Stephanie was brought back because there was a groundswell of requests and it didn’t do anything, sales wise – even putting her in as Batgirl didn’t give her a bump. He said that they will be back eventually, and they are waiting for the right story.

I pointed out I think the big issue with with Cassandra Cain and Stephanie is that Batman’s story arc, with the exception of Barbara Gordon coming back. seems to be the same as before the New 52. You have all four male Robins. But we’re missing a Batgirl. He said that Barbara coming back into the suit meant DC could change that, presumably meaning there was never another Batgirl after Barbara was shot.

Personally, I think it's a copout to think there's just no place for a character in a universe. If Dan can relaunch the entire DCU, he can find a place for Stephanie in it somewhere.

Dan Didio, or another high-ranking official at DC, dislikes both Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown. Neither character will appear in the New 52 anytime soon, because that executive doesn't want them to.

I believe the current mission statement at DC is "Do whatever keeps Geoff Johns happy.".

Considering the amount of work over the years that was put into developing her as a character, I only have three words:

"BRING HER BACK!

You would think that they would want to put out something people want to read..I loved the Batgirl series pre new 52. I was not a happy camper when they basically removed her from the DC U.

First to add to the "Where is" but where is Donna Troy?

Second. The marketing people at DC really just need to be smacked for how badly they handled Stephanie in the past.

"Who is the new female Robin? It is so exciting, no one knows who it could possibly be." Maybe Stephanie the only female in the Batman books. Then voila, "OMG it is Stephanie Brown, former Spoilsport." A lot of hype, very little payoff.

But wait, a few years later, "Who is the new Batgirl?" Ummm, could it be Stephanie who just returned? "OMG, the new Batgirl is Stephanie Brown, can you believe it?" She had some of the worst marketing ever.

Now with all that said, could DC do a Stephanie/Cassandra/Misfit comic and call it Batgirls? I think they could.

Spoiler, not Spoilsport.

And there was always the chance that they could have brought Carrie Kelly into mainstream comics and made HER Robin again.

Thanks. I was typing it all from memory. And at least that would've been a surprise. I was hoping for Secret from Young Justice myself. The point being, if the obvious answer is correct, then it isn't a surprise.

Don't know how I missed this back in October, but DC has announced that Stephanie Brown will be back in Batman: Eternal, a weekly series, sometime in the spring of 2014. Here's the article.

So Stephanie Brown is not going to be Batgirl. She is not going to be Robin. Spoiler? Or a brand new character all together. Curious how this plays out.

(referring to an original comic book piece) This is a art gallery my friend and THIS is a piece of art.
