What does it mean when a store is on vacation? I placed an order with a seller prior to this happening, and I have no idea when (or if) it will ship.

Have you sent them a personal message? Vacation Mode could be for a number of reasons but if you were able to place an order then the store should still be able to ship to you. Try contacting them first if you haven't already. Check out Hall of Heroes for hard to find Gold & Silver Age comics! Marvel! DC! Gold Key/Whitman! ACG! Dell! Archie! I also have a diverse selection of Independent and Underground books for sale - with more on the way!

Hey, what about that new rule instituted some time back about a store not being allowed to go on vacation mode until all pending orders have shipped?
And where's Steve been, anyway? I don't see him on the forums much anymore.

Stores can use Vacation mode for various reasons. Some of us (like me) who are just selling from our personal collection use it for actual vacations or (like me) when there's a new baby coming in five weeks. That said, from the Changes to the CCL Terms and Conditions (Seller's Conduct) Effective 10/1 posted Monday, September 24, 2012: 2) Stores may only go into "vacation mode" when all outstanding orders with CCL customers are fulfilled and marked as "shipped". Any store with outstanding "sold" orders will not be allowed to go into vacation mode or face CCL disciplinary action. So, assuming your order isn't marked shipped, I would reach out to Steve (aka The_Valiant_One) via PM and provide details. I'll also shoot him a note via Facebook to check in on this because, as Thundercron said, he's been a bit MIA. I know they were moving offices, hopefully they remembered to take Joe and Steve with them.

I sent a PM to the store. I got a prompt response, and everything was explained to me. The "vacation" did not impact my order. I've had nothing but good experiences buying on CCL. I'm an educator by profession, so I can't afford to buy from the LCS. I'm thankful that I can come here and get more bang for my buck. Thanks for the responses......

I'll see if I can get Joe to chime in on this topic since it was his final approval on the change to the Terms. The addition to the Terms and Conditions was to prevent confusion and delay of store's orders in theory for the buyer's protection from potential problem stores. If we're not having any issues and the customer's aren't complaining, then there's no real reason to enforce the issue on our end. Our fees would continue to roll in either way. But we would rather have consistancy one way or the other because opening and then closing and then reopening your store could cause problems for you as a store. And if they cause problems for you, overall they effect us as well. By the way, we're still working remotely since our offices are shut down for the remodel, but we'll be back on a regular office schedule by the end of the month. FYI: we're still open ;)
