Wow thats quite a cut.
When I trim my list it's usually by 3 or 4 titles but it seems like the next month I find new titles to fill the empty spots.
The one thing I have to learn the hard way is that I don't need to buy all the tie in issues to the so called blockbuster big events.I have found that the majority of the time the miniseries that are pumped out specifically for said event are pure garbage and hardly ever have anything to do with the event itself.

This is pretty much what I have done. I'll cut somewhere between 3-5 titles but inevitably those spots get filled up by something else. I'm consistently buying around $100 a month from Heroes Corner so retail I'd be paying close to $200 with taxes and such. Quite a savings if you ask me. Plus I'll go ahead and sell the stuff I don't plan on keeping here on CCL so in the end I don't end up spending a whole lot. I've set up a virtuous cycle for my comic book habit.

I basically cut all Marvels save for Spider-Man and Daredevil. I quit Hulk, Thor, X-Men, Punisher, all of them. Because I'm on a strict budget of late I only get the book REALLY worth my money.

Check out my comic book articles if you get the chance?

My pull has list has gone down from Mighty and New Avengers, Spider-Man, JSA, Detective Comics, and the stuff in my sig to just GL and GLC at one point. But now I am back up to more than two on goings and some minis, but yeah I went from like 10 to 2 at one time so I see what you are saying. It was right after Secret Invasion that I had this revelation...hmmm Think

Pull List:
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Blackest Night
Batman
Deadpool
Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth

My pull list continues to grow.. hmmmm I know what you're saying though about the crap titles. I always think i'm going to miss something if i drop a title and then i'll have to go back and look for the back issues.

I cut my list shortly after I stopped working at my LCS a couple years ago. I pretty much only get GI Joe, Transformers, and X-books right now. Sometimes I'll pick up something different if it looks interesting or hasa writer I like attached to it.

When I first started, my pull list was about 40.00 a week; then it jumped to about 80+ a week.....
The way work started bouncing around, I had to slow up and cut titles but other books quickly found those empty spots too....
Finally realizing what was happening, I picked a few titles that I wanted to just stick with and did that, keeping the spendature around 40 to 50 dollars a week....
Even after finally landing a good decent job, I kept the spending to about 40 to no more than 60 dollars a week....at least until the first layoff hit me, then it dropped down to 30 or so dollars a month....
I'm now on my biggest lay-off ever, and have had to put a stop to it all....depresses me to no end when I log onto CCL and see the new books that have come out or the titles that I was grabbing leaving me so far behind.....

yeah i'm right in line with everyone here. even raymond. moving back to the states i took a pay cut so it suck big time. i mean a lot of these titles i've been reading for years now but i'm just now seeing how truly sh!ty they are. like hulk. he hasn't been even remotely intresting since planet hulk. i thought with pak back it'd be awesome again. nope. i feel about the same way everyone feels about clarmont now-a-days. the only wolverine title i've been reading is being dominated by his kid and isn't fun at all, dark avengers sucks and is basically just a tie in wrapped nicely, batman all together is letting me down, the only writting i enjoy is pual dinis book, i'm just really let down by how crappy everything is right now. and like rougesquad said i'm afraid to miss anything but i think this is what clicked... i'm not really missing anything its all just canyon foder. utter crap. the only books i'm truly enjoying are iron man, uncanny x-men, daredevil, green lantern, and bats: SOG. i LOVE spidey but even hes starting to let me down. i'm just really glad i'm not the only one feeling this, thanks.

I probably average 5 titles a week($60-$75). I havent dropped anything in quite a while. Usually I think about dropping one and it gets exciting.

I keep finding with every title I cut, it seems two more jump in to take its place!

I'm seriously considering dropping most of the Bat-Titles and probably Punisher soon. With so many junk titles going up to $3.99 each, I need to drop several more, especially since I can pick them up a few months later on CCL for less than half price. My current pull list runs over 20 title per week, and honestly, it needs to be about half that.

When I first got back into collecting I had a good deal of Marvel on the list but Messiah Complex took care of that for me. So I dropped all Marvel titles except for Punisher (Remender) Runaways (which Marvel keeps cheap for me by not putting it out) and Ult. Spiderman. I was on the fence with Ult. Spidey before Ultimatum beause I figured it wouldn't be Peter but it's picked up where it left off so it's all good in my book.

Other than that it just seems to be horror mini's. I get the Boys still but haven't read it in a while, I just want to get them all.

I will always get Futurama.

So yeah I lost a good deal but I just got tired of the crap.

Me, Iceman, Skulls/Saints, In Flames, and Zapp Dannigan, Yep that sums me up!

I get my comics from Curious Goods and Comics

My pull list has grown significantly this year. Mainly due to the Blackest Night story and then getting interested in the Superman New Krypton story and all that follows that.

Also, Vertigo just keeps putting out such tasty treats that I just can't help myself...

My pull list will dwindle back down after the Blackest Night story is over.

Are you buying trades or something? At $3.99 a piece, 5 titles is about $20

When I stopped using Heroes Corner for books, I basically went to 2-4 titles a month - Thunderbolts and Secret Warriors with an occasional Indy title thrown in there. With the rise in prices - most books are now $3.99 or close to it - I'm even more concerned buying books. I only buy what I really, REALLY want at the moment; books I probably can't get down the road for much cheaper if at all.

If you're buying books online, make sure they ship 'em in a BOX...or you'll be sorry.

My list is super limited. It feels weird. Like all my new comic titles are Joss Whedon related or Runaways.

Dwindled compared to what? My pull list today is a lot smaller than what it was in the '80's. I sat out most of the '90's and the early part of this decade. My pull list today is a lot bigger than what it was a few years ago when I started buying again.

My list if different then most. I only buy older books & don't read them until I have the full run. I admit it is a lot harder but I look at this way what I buy is not going to go down in value & if I am lucky it might go up. I won't have to wait till the next issue comes out because I have it right here! What it does do is keeps me looking for books to buy almost every day. The biggest problem is which books to buy when you find to many that you need. I will check to see where I can get closest to completing a run with the books out there at the time. There has been the times where I went over budget & did real good with what I bought & times where I should have stayed with it because I either missed a book that I have not seen since, or coukd have bought them for less, but hey you never know. The other part is there are older titles with shorter runs & the books are harder to find that have a higher cost & I can work out a payment plan if I find enough of them at 1 place where I have them hold them till they all are paid for to reduce the shipping cost & often split the savings with seller as payment for storage & book keeping ect.. You would be impressed @ how well this works.

My pull list isn't that big to begin with. It gets expanded if I get sucked into big events. Like Flash Rebirth or Blackest Night, etc. Other than that I read about 5-6 books a month.

Ditto! I only started buying new release books again in July after giving them up in the '90's (still collected back issues during that time though). Even though my pull list isn't as big as it was in the '80's (as with LadyJay) it's only the cost that's keeping my pull list to it's current level (around 20-25 books a month) - I'd love to add more titles but just can't afford it.
